@djjd62,
79 degrees F at 5:39 pm in overcast middle New Mexico, 48% humidity, 60% possibility of thunderstorms, but, of course, maybe not just right here. We're having a cooler three or four days before it heats up to broiling point again.

I've just finished simmering the brown rice for the 10 burritos (cooked ground pork adobo, rice, black beans, raw onion chopped, cheddar cheese grated, in flour tortillas) I'll put together and freeze. Those make good breakfasts... if you happen to be me.

still hot and muggy - much better inside with the a/c running

@hamburgboy,
10am beyond the Black Stump in sunny South Australia. Having my coffee with apple strudel cake and cream. Beautiful cloudless day but cool, 15 degrees, ideal for todays local football showdown between the Power and the Crows. Will be attending along with 50 thousand other fans, go the Power!!!!!

100 degrees again today at 4:14 ET. I see from the Baseball thread that they are getting rain showers in Balt and Philly, delaying games. Good for them.

2:00 pm in cool San Diego
It's about 70 F and nice outside. We just finished lunch - spaghetti with pesto,
feta, chicken and capers. Now I could go for a little nap, but the kid is pestering
me to go shopping for a school backpack for her. I'll keep the nap in mind for
later then....

@tsarstepan,
2.45pm beyond the Black Stump downunder. Goodnight tsarstepan won't be joining you for some hours yet. Cool afternoon here, don't feel like cooking, so heading for a pub meal at 6pm. They have chicken and beef schnitzel on the menu with an excellent salad bar, eat as much as you like for $8, good value for money I reckon.

@Dutchy,
Saturday 9.51 am.

Had a pig of a week...very tired....having first coffee very slowly.

Actually, as I reflect, lots of parts of the week were great...it just ENDED badly...must focus more on what is positive..

86 degrees F here in Albuquerque now at 6:29 pm. Thinking about dinner - a tilapia sandwich on toast, perhaps.

What's good? I got two red Dansk bowls at the Goodwill today, plus 4 new used books.

What's bad? My paper work is looking at me, glaring.

It's 7:39 pm here in TX Hill Country and very nice considering so much rain lately. Husband dug a hole with a pitchfork, hit a huge rock. All the work for naught. The Booginvilia (phonetic spelling) has nary a bloom so far this summer, and neither does the climbing rose. What are we doing wrong?

@Pemerson,
Roses might have needed fertilizer at the surface, or some (not fresh) steer manure in the planting hole. Bougainvillea can be picky. It doesn't like its roots disturbed at planting, likes it's shoots supported, likes fertilizer at planting and in early summer, likes regular watering in spring and moderate in bloom period. So says Sunset Western Garden book.

@ossobuco,
Thanks, osso. Wonder why it has the nerve to be so picky. Since I've tried all those things and it's still being stubborn, it must be that the potting soil is just not good enough. Also, it is huge but all green, so maybe it's too much water and too little sun. Still, damn, they usually at some point, bloom. Too, too heavy to move.

@Pemerson,
Maybe the wrong fertilizer? Some promotes green growth more than bloom..

@farmerman,
Hope your walk is going well farmerman. I'm assuming you haven't run into any zombies (Pennsylvania being the home state of George Romero must be crawling and flooded with zombies to birth and inspire such a brilliant director). If we don't hear from you by sundown, should I assume the worst?

IT's 14:25 on this warm Sunday. Just finished watching the bizarre horror film Teeth and strictly coincidentally I'm going to make an early dinner of spaghetti. The waters on the stove right now.

I might wander over to the cinema and watch Inception. Looking up the showtimes on another tab right now.

@Swimpy,
That was one bizarre Freudian slip. It's still Saturday here as well.

Weird! My mistake... Shocked ... just weird. I'm definitely not joshing to get back to work so I don't think its that kind of subconscious mistake. Just weird....

@tsarstepan,
since tsar has point out to us in another thread that Jake Johansen thinks we are all going to die, I've decided to eat some leftover bbq chicken on a biscut.
