7:56 pm, Monday:

OK. The sauce is ever-so-gently simmering away.
Taking a bit of a break before showering & washing my hair.
Work tomorrow. I'm hoping it's the only day's work this for this week.
Listening to ABC radio.
Such a peaceful night. This is really very nice! Smile

It's not quite 11:30 AM EDT.

Although I did not go to sleep early . . . I stayed up trying to watch something dumb on hulu and my computer was wonky . . . I rose at a respectable time.

Put together an info sheet for my students; put clothes in the washer; handwashing some of the woolens still 'out;' loaded the dishwashe; set the oven to clean itself. Need to pull weeds, find a recipe for tofu to an early supper, correct my students' essays (sigh) and then go to work at the store at 6.

9:45 a.m. 75 F, 28% humility, step-son just left in my truck for 6 days in the Gila mountains where he plans on pack-packing hiking the Apache Wilderness area. expected temps for the coming week high 90's low 100's. His mother (he is 34 years old) will start telling me that we need to phone the ranger stations in the Gila mountains to keep and eye out for him. I will continue to ignore her until get he gets back home next weekend. He left is rice milk in the fridge but I shamed him into going to the market yesterday and getting 4 quarts of 1/2 & 1/2 cream.

18:10 Just booked the room for another day/night: Mrs Walter got a terrible migraine and can't travel back tomorrow.
(We got our -booked at a very reduced rate- room upgraded by the hotel. I suspect, I've to pay the regular price for the second night. [This place has been flooded by the Danube and two more rivers until the weekend.])

12:48pm....Tulsa, OK...cool, rainy day here--about 70 degrees F. Nice.

Just got back from seeing the orthopedic guy. Arthroscopic shoulder surgery scheduled for THIS WEEK! Thursday. They had a cancellation. Went straight from surgeon's office to lab for blood work, CT center for EKG, all pre-surgical stuff finished within 2 hours. Wow, this is fast.

(I've been needing to do this for quite some time, but had to wait until school was out for the summer.)

6:34 am, Tuesday 8th June, Melbourne:

Good morning, all.
I've been up for over half an hour, though the garbos woke me with all their clattering & clanging at 5:40. I didn't need that. Neutral
Drinking tea, getting my head around the idea of work today, telling Poppy that no, she cannot have a 2nd breakfast (in fact I'm considering putting her on a diet!) & reading the online news (today is United Nations World Oceans Day) ....

Glad you managed 3 hours of sleep, Missy. But not nearly enough. We gotta do something about this.
Hope Mrs W is feeling better today, Walter.
And good luck, Eva.

Talked to the service rep at Black&Decker.
They're going to send me a new weeder/trimmer to replace the one that
stopped working. I didn't even have to yell.

PestMaster was out at 11 a.m. to spray 'round the outside of house for bugz. I asked him to wait until I got the kitty from under the deck and into the house before he began spraying. He kept on spraying, I continued saying, wait, wait! Husband was mowing lawn. How's a kitty to ever come from under the deck with the noise from lawnmower and strange man pointing this thing at him.

So, I stood there and yelled, "Turn that goddam lawnmower off!" I then turned to the bug man and said, "Wait until I get the cat!" I then went into the house and called his boss, and said, "I want this man you sent out here to get out of my yard." She then called his cell. Next I turned around and this man is coming into my house. (The lawnmower is still running.) I suggested he knows where he can put his spray, and to get out of my house."

I guess I just lost it, didn't I? Why would this man continue to spray, all the while telling me the product won't hurt the cat, when I'm telling him not to? Because, our cats have been sick from the products before. Then, there's the lawnmower...and he's walking into my house... Such a day.
