I've been carrying around a coupon for a free one of those since Christmas (a little gift from a parent at school.) Thanks for the warning.

I rarely drink coffee during the day. I don't know what possessed me.

I took a nap too! Crapy day today and I am so glad it's the weekend.
Just dropped off the teenager at her old school. Her former classmates have
a graduation ceremony and she wanted to attend. In an hour she's off to
babysit - busy day for a teenager Smile

10:58 am, Saturday 5th June, Melbourne:

So relieved it's the weekend. Plus, a very quiet week coming up next week (just one day's work planned at the moment ) due to senior exams. Thank goodness. I need to stop. And I'm planning on getting many of those "must do" jobs (which have built up & up) out of the way.
Today: Shop. Tidy up here. Walk. Maybe dinner out, maybe not. I'll see how things go. A lot more sleep, definitely. I think I may be in the process of establishing a new Guinness Book of Records sleeping record here!

Very good to see you, Gus! Smile
(though you shouldn't have killed that perfectly innocent squirrel .. )
What have you really been up to? There are stories circulating around A2K, ya know ... Wink
Seriously, I hope this visit doesn't turn out to be just a quick hello & goodbye. You've been missed.

Speaking of squirrels, I'm feeling like one of those critters holed up for the winter. I hope I've stored enough nuts for the duration!

Just got phone call arranging tomorrow's social events...today I feel like Msolga...would like a quiet day, and need to do passport paperwork (has gone up exponentially since my last one!) and the online form hopefully letting me into the USA and my insurance form and some more book and clothing purging and and...

@Rockhead,
Only have an iPhone camera and it sucks.

However, I am in love with Herbie, and love will find a way.

Tsk, task ... too much online dilly-dallying around!
I'm still in my pajamas. (Shocking but true!)
I must get dressed. And in great haste! Do the shopping. Do the walk. (Under-cover, as it looks like raining more. It's cold! my fingers are frozen.)
At least I don't have to worry about cooking dinner tonight. My friend just rang. A huge pot of minestrone on the go. Sounds pretty good to me! Very Happy

9:48 am, Sunday 6th June, Melbourne au :

Good morning, all.
A lot of rain overnight. Everything outside is soaked!
Another leak in my roof, I see. Note to self: ring handyman at 9 am tomorrow!
A very peaceful morning. No sound but the birds. Soon the church bells for the 10 am service at the little Italian Catholic church near me, in Sydney Road, will start ringing. 10 am on the dot, very single Sunday. I could set the time by it.
Thinking about what I'll do with this soggy Sunday. Rain will clear this afternoon, the weather bureau tells us. Some sun expected. Maybe a walk will be possible?

9.55am Sunday 6th June, Sydney.

First sunny day for more than 3 weeks - although more rain threatened this afternoon.

About to hit the shower, followed by the walk around the bay (the short one, not the "Bay Walk" Looking forward to getting out in the sun - where's the blockout?

Anniversary of my sister's death - over 30 years ago.

@msolga,
just before 8 p.m. Saturday in Toronto

I had a wonderful day of adventuring with Brendalee. We were out early to be in the studio audience for the final broadcast of one of my favourite radio programs in the CBC studios. Then we went walking and wandering for about mmmmmm 6 hours, with a break for some dim sum (ym cha) at the Pink Pearl. Bought pounds and pounds of beads down on Queen East. Had a great wander through Kensington Market - stinky spices, stinky fish, loud music, stinky cheeses, gorgeous breads and people - and ran into two friends there. Three million people in this town and I almost always find someone to hug on one of these adventures. Happy frabjous day.

Now I'm resting my worn-out feet and listening to dogs snore (and playing games at FB).

@ehBeth,
It just turned 8 PM in humid South Central Pa. We too had a neat day of extreme goofing off with no attempts at gardening , farming, or being attentive to the "outfit". I like days like this. We had a light breakfast of a smoothie with Clammity"s idea to add watermelon in the mix.
Lunch was a half slab of ribs at the Plainsman, after which we went to Cecil COunty (Md) summer opening festival in "Rising SUn" . I got into a heated debate with a vendor who was pushing some Creationist Bullshit. I assured him, before opening , that I was supportive of his rights, just as long as it wasnt taught as "Science" in public school. The debate was really good and he was not some mindless schmuck who just tried to provide arguments based upon "the gaps". He was , as it turned out, a biochemist with a graduate degree from Princeton . His views were based upon an "Old Earth Creationism belief" and he was a pleasure to talk with. We exchanged e-mails and vowed to battle on.(I know and he knows that we dont change, we just need good folks of opposite views to sharpen our tools)

Then we went to the Chesapeake City home of a buddy who needed som ballast for his ciggy boat. WE took a frightening ride from Chesapeake City marina to Baltimore in less than 30 minutes. This boat wasnt nearlywide open and we were well above 55 k. Ill bet it cost many gals of gas, I think he said that at top speed he gets less than 1 mi/gal. at flat calm.
We hit a small squally T storm on the way back and I stood below like a 5 year old.

Got some dry pack scallops at the Capt Salty c-food dock in Elkton and Mrs F is working on doing a scallop with bacon in a sherry base. Shes gonna broil em. I just cleaned huge pot of fresh picked snow peas.

11.00 am 6 June.
sun shining brightly although its that weak winter sun. no real prospect of rain.
Had a big sleep in (cause i deserve it) and now breakfasting on toated cheese and garlic pullapart (bread) salami and coffee followed by a honey croissant.
No big plans for the day but I might go to our block and set fire to stuff.
