Out all day. Hot hot hot. Trying to figure out if next step is pool (more outdoors but at least there are opportunities to cool off) or if air conditioned shade (i.e. indoors) is the way to go.

22:40 Just returned from a nice evening with my cousin's adoptive C
Croatian (from Bosnia) son and his family.

Have seen this afternoon the world largest fossil oyster reef and the world's largest fossil pearl. (Plus some hundred pearl necklaces etc ... but couldn't find my VISA-card, so unfortunately the missus ... Wink )

(Nearly) 22:00 h Just back from dinner on the "Kahlenberg ('Backhendle', a Vienna speciality, deep fried chicken). The view from that restaurant is exactly like the one similar to this from the university next door to it

8:18 pm in the eastern U.S.
The 3rd thunderstorm of the day is rumbling through. The 2nd one was nearly overhead with spikes of lightning coming straight down. This last one is, for the moment, further way. Continuous thunder but a lot less rain.

8:10 pm CDT It's a beautiful evening in the heartland wrapping up a lovely day. My mother turned 101, my brother was not seriously hurt in the bike accident, and the grand-dog got a clean bill of health from the vet. She gave me a scare yesterday, but everything is fine.

21:00 h Just returned from Vienna, having had a wonderful day (seen one of my Austrian cusins the first time again since 40 years, had a delicous traditional Vienna lunch, been in two traditional Vienna coffee house, seen a lot of this and that ...).

Just finished chasing three obstreperous red squirrels from my back yard. Two of them escaped, but the third fell victim to the lead projectile from my slingshot.

I suspect some sort of computer trickery is involved in that imagery. Perhaps photoshop? Something does not smell right. Like the fish thing in Finland or whatever that expression is.

I was concerned about gus coming back, when I heard that Gary Colemen died.
