10:33 a.m. in sunny Tulsa, OK...already 82 degrees F.

A/C repairman was here at 9 a.m. to add coolant to upstairs unit that has been icing over. Hope this takes care of the trickle of water in the basement. Very nice of him to come out so quickly on a holiday weekend!

12:25pm austin, tx

taking a break, eating a chicken sandwich.

Had thrown cabbage, potatoes and some baby back ribs in the crock pot last night, so had to transfer that to a container to refridgerate for tonights dinner. Drained off the liquid separately to skim off fat later.
We're also going to have roast parsnips and beets, which I'll make right before eating.

Played with cats cleaned kitchen, cleaned my bathroom.
Finished sandwich and am now going to fold a pile of laundry.

Thinking about going to a community pool later, after yoga. We'll see.

Just after 3 p.m. Saturday

taking a break (sorta kinda) in the middle of a bit of a day

we got up, showered etc and got out fairly early - a co-worker just bought a house in the neighbourhood and she wanted me to come take a look at some problems (she's trying to decide whether to take the home inspector to court)

we walked the dogs home - Set went in with them

I went over to visit a neighbour who has just retired at the age of 74 - talked about her home reno plans - met her general contractor

Dashed home, grabbed my shopping bags, did some grocery shopping and found some fabric for my Saiidi dance dress

Home around 2 p.m., realized I was starving, threw some pork on the grill. Went downstairs to flip some laundry from washer to dryer, and start another load in the washer. The line is almost full outside.

Prepared myself a plate of pork with Szechwan peanut sauce, sat down in front of the computer to play for a bit.

I have to leave to meet brendalee in a while. We've got a Tafelmusik concert to go to. We'll grab some tea/coffee before the concert. First time at a new concert hall, so it will be dressier than usual.

Gotta decide if I really want to wear a nice dress on the subway.

12:45 pm in paradise
After exercising, doing some garden work and talking to the neighbors, we're having lunch now. Some sardines, humus, olives, salami, cheese along with a baguette.

@farmerman,
You are correct about that. However I find the paradises of Southern California like Newport Beach and La Jolla, a bit monotone - even though they are truly beautiful and blessed with a near perfect climates. The Bay Area, as you noted, has its sometimes stark contrasts. However, for me that is part of the scene that I do truly like.

Home from the hill. 5:15 PM. Fetched stuff from mother in law's home. Worked on A/C today, of which I removed the leaky evap coil. It will be tuesday before I get a new one. Fortoonately, we have a window unit to help us out.

@georgeob1,
I used to frequent a good restaurant in STockton called"On Lok Sam's". It had a parking lot with concertina wire and an armed guard. It also had some of the best "prawns in Lemon grass -garlic sauce"

@farmerman,
8:50 am, Sunday 30th May, Melbourne Oz:

Brrr. Cold morning. Rugged up with lots of layers & bulky woolly socks. About to head off for breakfast with a friend. (She's promised me poached eggs. Smile ) Also to deliver a bunch of videos & loads of recently made soup (I made enough to feed an entire football team. Excellent soup, if I do say so myself.) I was going to walk there & back, but one look at the sky, plus reading today's weather forecast, tells me that would not be a very smart thing to do!

Snowing??!!

Opposite of snowing here today. 80's, bright sun. We were outside virtually the entire day (9:30 AM -> noon, 1:30 PM --> 7 PM) and I hope we managed to escape burning -- sunscreen was liberally applied.

Now 8:51 PM and wrapping things up before bed.

I'll agree that La Jolla is uncommonly beautiful.

Exhausted from my last job.

Had ordered a bunch of stuff online from Coldwater Creek (I hate shopping). Box arrived today. Bought everything in 2 sizes. I can return anything I don't want to a physical store.
Everything I bought was from the outlet part of the website, and I had a coupon code for 40% off everything.

I didn't like 80% of what I got.

Just going to keep 2 pullover shirts, a jacket for work, and some scarves.

Well, at least I tried it all on in the privacy of my own home.

Dealing with clothes frazzles me.

@chai2,
8:22 pm with 80 degrees outside, 83 inside in lowering light New Mexico, finishing up making a hot and sour shrimp rice noodle soup.

Coldwater Creek - maybe eight years ago I was in Sand Point, Idaho for a family memorial service weekend nearby, and wandered into the home store (if I remember correctly) of CC company. I wore an L then, or was it XL.. and must have tried on every L/XL in the store. Maybe it was that season's clothes, but every single thing looked terrible on me, and I'd been looking forward to buying. No Idaho souvenir for me..
