A 20 degree drop in temp in the last 2 hours. Clouds piled up behind the ridge to my west and then rolled over. Lots of thunder.
Brack, brack on my NPR station every 10 minutes with flash flood warnings from the Weather Service.

Saturday 8:22 am, 29th May, Melbourne:

I think I slept something like 11 hours lat night. Still not feeling too wonderful. I think I might be getting a cold. (Occupational hazard. I wish parents would keep students with nasty colds at home.)

9.08am Saturday 29 May, 2010 - Sydney

Bloody raining again - we've had solid rain for 2 weeks and another full week forecast. And still a lot of the country is in drought! BaH!

A day for housework, trying to get the laundry dry (malfunctioning dryer!), and looking for that Moroccan cook book. Have invited friends to lunch tomorrow - and need something tasty for a friend who's been in hospital and rehab after surgery for a couple of weeks. She's over "bland food"! Oh - and I've already watched the DVD of Bride and Prejudice this morning.

Can't remember the name of it - and can't find it! Waaahhh!!!
Theme may become middle eastern - generally - I can cook those things without a recipe.

on to my second cup of coffee.
Batching.
Mumpad has gone to brisbane for a long weekend reunion with some old college girlfriends.
Lots of rain yesterday and last night.
The plan:
shopping
washing (work clothes, bed linen towels)
vaccuum
beds
.... we'll see how it goes

well it's friday evening and we were planning on a nice dinner of fried spam, microwave peas and a jar of Navajo Nights Finest Fortified Wine but when I went out to the garage for the wine I noticed we had already drunk the last gallon so instead we are having porkchops, wild rice, steamed fresh aspargoose and some imported Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Sometimes things just don't work out like you planned, so it goes.

@margo,
Hi margo.

If you're stuck, I can offer you a spicy, slow-cooked recipe for Chicken, Lentil & Pumpkin Curry (which I made recently & was pretty easy & good. Well I thought so.)

But it'll have to be in a couple of hours time, as I have to get my act together now & go out very soon for an appointment. Let me know, OK?

Good luck in your search for your book!

around 8:30 p.m. Friday night

the temperatures have dropped a bit (around 26 celsius now), but they'll be zooming back up again on Sunday

It was a long week, in spite of the long weekend that preceded it.

I'm still giddy about the idea of learning a double cane routine for the next dance gala. Moi, doing double cane!

Trying to keep it low-key tonight as there are a bunch of things to get done tomorrow.

Weekend yay!!!!!!!

Off for lunch and maybe a friend's (high school) production of Mother Courage. (He's the drama teacher, of course...but his plays are pretty damn good for a bunch of kids usually...and I love Mother Courage!)

4:15 pm, Saturday 29th May, Mebourne:

Making a seafood lasagne to take over to a friend's place for dinner tonight. She's making the salad & dessert.
It's been raining fairly steadily. Very quiet & peaceful in my neighbourhood. Everyone's indoors.
So far my morning under-the -weather condition hasn't turned into a cold. (Fingers crossed.)

@msolga,
3.55pm, Saturday 29th May, Adelaide.

Very similar conditions over here msolga, cold and wet, best opening for the farmers in many, many years. Even the waters from the tropical rains op north are starting to reach us which is great for the outback stations. Sauerkraut and smoked Dutch sausage with mustard on our dinner table tonight.

@Dutchy,
Only very gentle rain here, Dutchy. Sounds like you're getting a lot more than we are today. Delighted for you. Your garden will love this! Very Happy

Im going to a farm impliments auction this AM and then we are going to visit some friends at their summer cottage on the Chesapaeke BAy. They have a neat farmette on a bluff overlooking the Bay and we will spend the next 2 days just loafing.

Its a bit overcast and cool. We are expecting a mostly sunny several; days and they expect it to turn much warmer.
