@wandeljw,
Looking forward to Skyfall and hopefully it'd return Bond back to Casino Royale greatness after its horrible Quantam fall.

I'd watch this now but YouTube is blocked at work. I'd watch it when I get home later today but my internet at home has been really sketchy.

@tsarstepan,
The original Ian Fleming novels are deadly serious. Only the movies added humor and glamor to Bond. At the end of the novel You Only Live Twice, James Bond has a nervous breakdown. The next novel in the series is The Man With The Golden Gun. In the beginning of the book they are trying to rehabilitate James Bond after he spent a year living as a vagrant fisherman.

It seems lately that many acclaimed thrillers are coming from Scandanavian countries. Headhunters is a Norwegian thriller now playing in the United States.

@tsarstepan,
WOW!

Cloud Atlas (out Oct. 26) is certainly one of the most ambitious films of this fall: an epic, genre-spanning amalgam of the six interlocking stories in David Mitchell’s 2004 novel, adapted for the screen and co-directed by the trio of Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) and Tom Tywker (Run Lola Run). So it seems only appropriate that the movie’s trailer, which went up today on Apple’s trailer site, is equally grand.

@tsarstepan,
Cloud Atlas does look very ambitious. Since it involves more than one story, I could tell from the trailer that some stories were directed by the Wachowskis and one or two stories directed separately by Tom Tywker. Both the Matrix series and Run Lola Run play with reality. For me, Run Lola Run was more engaging. I felt indifferent to the characters in the Matrix films.

My daughter Katrina worked on the casting of this film and met all the stars (DeNiro, Keaton, Sarandon, Robin Williams). Great cast!

@tsarstepan,
This crime drama/thriller looks pretty impressive. Eric Bana is such a highly underrated and overlooked actor:

My daughter Katrina also worked on the casting of "Loft" an American remake of a Belgian thriller from 2008. Eric Van Looy who directed the original also directed this remake.

The Company You Keep Trailer: Shia LaBeouf Hunts Robert Redford

By Kyle Buchanan

The reinvention of Shia LaBeouf continues, but in the new Robert Redford–directed drama The Company You Keep, LaBeouf leads not with his bushy beard or wang, instead letting his dogged journalistic drive and unflattering spectacles dominate the proceedings. You see, Susan Sarandon was recently arrested for decades-old Weather Underground crimes, and LaBeouf has a hunch that there may be one other former revolutionary who slipped from view; soon enough, he's closing in on Redford, who took on a new life under an assumed name after a Weather Underground bank robbery gone wrong in the seventies. Standing in the way of the two men? A giant cast of talented supporting actors, including Anna Kendrick, Nick Nolte, Julie Christie, Terrence Howard, and Stanley Tucci.

An impressive cast and it seems that LaBeouf's acting ability isn't a fluke. He can act when he's not in terrible films. This looks like a solid thriller to me. Here's hoping for the best. Smile
