@hingehead,
Most of the pictures posted on this thread look so surreal - it seems they were "created" through photoshop.

@cicerone imposter,
I agree. I'm suspicious.
It's like eating my favorite food, lobster. After the third one I don't want to see another one.

@cicerone imposter,

This certainly is what an average photographer would come up with.
Many of that type is something I get really tired of sooner or later.
Some of the photos do look like created, but most of them I certainly enjoy

@vonny,
Yikes! Just the photo triggered my sense of vertigo.

@roger,
You sound like my husband - he nearly passed out once because I climbed over the edge of a guard rail round a clifftop lighthouse to take photographs!

@vonny,
This is disturbing to me because I used to work high, usually without safety belt or harness. I had a high level of confidence in those days.

@cicerone imposter,
I've personal odd biases. I'm rarely out walking at night alone, I'd trip and break my neck. I also learned to never drive in twilight, as traffic jams could **** me up and send me into dark, and that was a grand impediment to my design career, even going to city council meetings. I remember driving towards Salinas and having to pull off and signing in to the no tell motel at whatever offramp. I ventured out to demand they give me a new light bulb. On the other hand, in daytime I've been lordess of the road.

Which is to say, I don't experience a lot of flagrant sunsets, though I get they exist, have seen them - but not so much as this movie screenness photography that is happening. Huge amounts of photos other people like seem ramped up to me. Having been around a long time, I do think a lot of stuff is colored up recently and I'm not very interested.

I also could be wrong on some of them, but stuff seems fruited up.

@roger,
This must be an aging thing Roger. I used to work on roofs 40 ft up without any safety lines.
Now when I go out on my sister's balcony I get dizzy 5 feet from the rail.

The photoshopping thing doesn't bother me much - I've always liked hyperreal art and photorealism - especially mixed in with surrealism. These pictures sort arrive at the same destination from a completely different starting point.

I'm sure it is. Didn't realise it until after I'd posted it though!

It's like photoshopped photos - they look real to me, until I see them on a thread - but I'm like you, don't mind hyperreal art and photorealism - occasionally!
