I'm looking to attach a small server to my home network that can be accessed from any of the computers in the house or my PS3. I'd also like one that can output music to my home stereo.
I'd like it to be wireless of course. Also, I'd like multiple drives that will back each other up.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I've built a few media servers for the various places I've lived and friends. I'm actually working on fixing my friends right now and I'm combining two old media servers into one as well. I guess I'm your man here.
What hardware do you have? Old desktop computers? Specs? Or are you looking to purchase a cheap computer for this purpose? When you say wireless, do you mean you want the server to connect to your router wirelessly or do you mean that you want your PS3 to be able to make an ad hoc connection via some other method like blutooth? What type of budget are you working with?
Let me know how I can help with hardware and software.
