Incidentally, after u get out of prison,
if u continue possession of that shotgun with 30" barrel,
or ANY gun, u then become a felon in possession of a firearm,
which is another federal felony for the rest of your life,
(u shoud live so long as to get a certificate of relief from disabilities)
so if u defend your home or your wife with even a little .22 single shot rifle,
its back to the penitentiary. Maybe your wife will send u a cake with a hacksaw in it.

I don 't know Pa. law, but most likely any professional licenses that u possess
to do ANYTHING woud be in grave peril of revocation.
In some jurisdictions, the revocation is automatic, but selling apples in the street
or panhandling is probably OK, depending on local law.

@OmSigDAVID,
wanna buy a cross-bow...?

actually, farmerperson, as much as you are into exotic woods and composites, you might enjoy building a bow.

they are not expensive.

and they don't ricochet like a bullet.

and they are quiet...

@Rockhead,
I have a crippled left arm with poor muscle strength due to old tears in the tissue, andmissing fingers and theres no feeling. I tried a bow several times in the past and can handle about 40 lb tops without getting real shaky. I dont know whether All Id do is just piss someone off with a 4o lb pull . My shotgun is just fine. I have a Sig also but thats not a house gun

U know, after someone gets out of public housing,
archery might still be legal for his home defense, depending on local law.
Maybe a slingshot; I dunno.

Its a shame; all that because the pipe was 12" instead of 18", praise be unto gun control.

@Rockhead,
why would I want to give a housebreaker a fair chance?? I dont know if hes armed and Ive been told never to underpower your defense. If you piss him off and hes armed, I could be dead with only one little crossbow bolt. MY shotgun racks 5 hi brass.
I ask heem one question'

"HEY HOMBRE"

"How you gonna get outta my house?"

@Rockhead,
de nada amigo.

Im remembering a movie with Paul Newman who had the drop on Richard Boone and Newman asked Boone that same question "How you gonna get back down this hill"?

Thats called having the drop on your opponent. A condition that, in a housebreaking situation, Id mostl like to have. (or maybe 3 dobermans)

If he surrenders, I think to avoid police hassles,
(in some cases, having police rob u of all of your guns)
u r better off letting him go.

That is bad for your nabors and good for u.

@farmerman,
my situation is unique as well, in that any thief worth his salt is gonna be breakin' in the shop, not the house. (i got nothin here)

A bolt won't travel as far as innocent people would be around...
