@Rockhead,
Very Happy

I don't get decorative objects. or objets. There's something about things that people use/have used. Better than art. I have some art on the walls that friends have created. Rolling pins and tool boxes tell me more.

@ehBeth,
I collect old things. especially mechanical things.

I have several old blowtorches,

@ehBeth,
in the cabin, I have automotive posters and pictures, but they are signed, and have significance beyond the visual. each has a story to go with it.

and barbwire and glass candle holders that I am playing with making...

not gonna decorate much in the shop until the roof is fixed.

I have a to do list 5 miles long...

using a lot less wood so far, though.

this is good, cuz cutting wood is more difficult than fixing cars, and doesn't pay as well...

@ehBeth,
Love rolling pins. I collect peoples garbage. Have chairs and tables and such that I have refurbished. Smile I carried one of my chairs for a mile back to my house that I pulled from someone's garbage pile when I was 5 mos. pregnant with Gbaby. I was afraid someone would get it before I got home and got my car. Smile Wee bit selfish of me.

@Rockhead,
The chairs are plant stands?
Like stools?

I have a horrid habit of searching people's garbage piles on garbage day. I can slow down the traffic behind me quite a bit as I scan for something salvageable. It's fun though. 95% of my home has been things I have grabbed from someone's unwantables. I used to be embarrassed by that. Now it is bragging right for me. Smile Heck - if they didn't want it and it can be made over - why shouldn't I do it? Some things that are new are just too pristine. I like my things and my folks - with character Smile

@Rockhead,
Heh heh - not so well thank you Rock. I have taken to snoring as well.

The Professor has opted for the couch the last couple of nights. Can't say that I blame him really.

my paint guns, and the welder I'm getting ready to buy.

@mismi,
"The chairs are plant stands?

no.

like the chairs (really nice old wooden ones) have yucky vinyl seats on them. and nobody sits in them.

so they have a big potted plant sitting on them by the window. there is a big staggering of way too many plants by the window, especially until I fix the walls and roof...

@mismi,
for the record, my ole sexy neighborette was gonna throw away the table and 6 chairs after nobody wanted them at her garage sale.

they are old, and real wood, but need work to be nice. I could refinish them, but doubt I ever care that much...

@Rockhead,
Well...they are still real wood. Would they be better for you to sit on than the two plant stands? Even if you didn't refinish them - it might be something you might be interested in.

Anytime anyone wants to give something away for free I want to look at it to see if I can fix it up. It is some kind of innate need I have.

@mismi,
your cold has upped the density in your skull, feather.

the two "plant stands" are 2 of the six chairs I got with the table. the cabin is not built for dining 6. or 3...

I have a comfortable chair that I sit in at the computer and a nice not so comfortable chair for visitors (so they don't stay too long...)

the other chairs are in the storage I built in the top of the shop trusses.

have another cough drop, eh?
