went in at 9 this morning.

we bent the two curved hand rails, and welded them on.

I was asked to pull a double, and oversee the painting of the set.

just got done.

it looks fabulous, but I am nearly dead.

gonna go fall down now. not due in until Friday...

I am off indefinitely...

can't move.

back is totally out. spent two hours stuck on my bedroom floor.

not good...

Can you get at least a back brace?

No, that's not good at all.

Stating the obvious, but perhaps pulling doubles should be avoided in the future.

it was the only way to finish.

my back was done. as soon as I stopped moving, rehab had to commence.

by staying over, I was done with my portion.

everyone else was back at 10 am to hang drops, and finish off the set.

it was my call, based on the circumstances.

the set is firkin beautiful. all black, white, and blued steel...

other than cancelling an obligation at the casino, it won't hurt my finances.

as soon as I can go again (monday I hope) restoration work can begin again at the O.

losing out on American Idol down south isn't the end of the world...

I called my little ex, L, to bring me some groceries and medical supplies (including a backbrace and tiger balm). and told her that my costume designer wasn't gonna work into a girlfriend scenario.

she was happy to help out, and not displeased as to the other news...

if successful, I will read until I fall asleep.

if not, I will scream in agony and find my way into bed to recover and fall asleep.

I went through my share of spams last night.

L came over around 4 am after working at the casino to get me some fresh water, and feed stinky.

she even changed my wine bottles for me. (my ingenious bedpan solution involving a transmission funnel)

best ex-girlfriend I ever had...

and opportunity rang my doorbell tonight.

a friend and fellow stagehand needs a place to stay.

gonna give up my spare room for a bit and get to work on making him a trailer to rent...

Stinky is not so sure he wants a roomie, but he didn't get a vote this time.

I may save this place yet in spite of the lousy ownership situation...

if I wake up spasm free, Ima go get some locksets re-keyed and break into #75.

then replace the window so someone else can't get in as easy as me...

Russel is gonna come back around noon and dig deeper into the trailer next to me. I think it is the closest to being reborn.

needs a hot water heater and some pipes for sure. and a new electrical panel.

gonna have my electrician come over and play now that funds are starting to flow kinda reglar like...

had to pass on a call to workus the circus on Tuesday. my back says maybe by friday I can play with heavy **** again...

poor stinky.

he just does not understand my back situation...

last night, just as I was settling down to sleep on my side, he jumped up on the bed, walked down my side toward my head. and I screamed, as his weight caused me to flinch and spasm...

he has no idea what he did wrong.

or why he can't sit on my lap...

he will be in therapy for weeks, but he has it way better than me.

dunno what I woulda done without L last night.

gonna take her and her daughter out for dinner as soon as I can walk normal like.

maybe wednesday.

she has already consented.

should be plenty weird. daughter and I got along well when we were dating. (L and I) but dropped outta my life as soon as L pulled the plug.

the joys of adult dating, I guess...

her autistic son is happily enjoying his new group home. and her youngest is off to college.

lotsa new frontiers opening up, I guess.

my back needs to get it's **** together...

I am marginally better today.

went and got some locks re-keyed, and sold the trailer next to me to Russ.

he will begin moving in tomorrow, and we will start working to make it livable as soon as we can.

it is not completely hopeless, just needs some flooring, wallboard, ceiling work and plumbing...

Oh...not much work then.

No heavy stuff. I heard that scream. Poor Stinky!

he is still feeling out his place, as my back slowly recovers.

had some Local troubles today...

was bumped from my spot for "preventative" measures on my back. cost me $300 and some respect.

camped on my guy's doorstep with prior knowledge of an impending problem, and scored back 4 hours at head pay for 3 real hours, and a lifting of my "protective" non calls...

I am still down a coupla benjamins.

but I gained some respect...

got credentials and a radio. also keys...

settling into my new gig.

also have a new resident at the TP. with 3 more pending. developing a reasonable relationship with the little gal in charge of TP in town...

life is back to full speed here.

I admit it. I was shocked. Didn't want to go but my namesake asked me to go - and they were freaking good. Their drummer in particular (wasn't he the cute tiny one 20 years ago) was fabulous.
