@mismi,
that's kinda nuts.

fed smoky, off to bring the food back here, and sit down to Sunday dinner.

pork roast with carrots and onions cooked on it in the crock pot. mashed potatoes and carrot gravy. some green beans to be civilized.

smoky was impressed.

Ima hafta rest before I try to eat. wonky from all the activities today.

still gotta split some wood. the maul feels like it weighs 50 pounds...

@mismi,
g'night feather...

I am sitting here snacking, trying to remember the last time I had gravy. it's been quite a spell.

as gravy goes, this is ok. not to write home about. but it's thick and warm and salty and makes my mashed potatoes just right.

the roast cuts with a spoon. it will make good sammiches for us this week. and I picked up another one today while we were shopping. along with ten more pounds of taters. gonna be lots of taters in my future...

(doing the babycarrots as a nod the the canadien wench, eh. my eyeballs thank you)

back for a health question...

it's blowy and snowy outside, but I can still see where I called earl over across the path...

blood pressure:

I thought mebbe my headaches were based on blood pressure spikes, because when they get intense, I can feel my pulse pounding in my temples, and my skull feels like it wants to pop off...

but.

gram gave me her old tester, cuz she thought she needed a new one, and I been testing around and seeing what is what.

my pressure is freaky low...

mostly low hundreds over low 70s.

after splitting wood, it was 113 over 80.

and after I got good and sick, it is 93 over 63.

any thoughts...?

@Rockhead,
I just read up about this online. Your BP is not dangerously low. It's borderline low. The potential reasons are many.

If you're concerned, what they say online is for you to see a doctor.

I don't know that there's anything you can do about it on your own.

Other people might drop by who know more about this than I do. I hope so.

@Rockhead,
you might want to check with Jespah on the lower-end of blood pressure readings - in her case it's from the whack of exercise she'd been getting - athletes tend to have freakishly low bp

@Rockhead,
Anemia? How much iron is there in your diet? Also, with your crohn's and other potential blood loss you may have a chronic anemia which will bring your bp way down.

Also, bp targets have dropped a lot in the past few years. I was being medicated to target 100/70 and not higher than 110/80.

I just spent way too much time trying to insert an old worn out dollar bill into a vending machine. I wonder if this is what male impotence is like.

@Rockhead,
I've been as low as 78/40 from 1/2 a 5 mg lisonpril. I never take the **** unless the bp is moving up over 130. I take 1/2 of a 5 more or less every three days and just watch the ticker. The prescription is for 5 a day. But I hate hitting my skull on the tile floor, which happened twice a couple of years ago. Now I watch my ass. The fainting I did was not dulcet like, more a direct drop. Do you have one of those wrist cuffs, rocky? Walgreens, then about $17.00.

This is consternating, as when my mother in law had a bp angling at the diastolic under 5o.
The family gathered around, by the doctor, on whether to let her go. I was the only naysayer but opted out since I wasn't really key in the family. I remember it was about whether to give her some drug (reserpine?) to jump her up.
She recovered.

The was probably all about her bleak future.

and my plumbing is still functional, no matter what jcboy implies...

Wink

my tester uses a full bicep cuff. gram never gets chintzy when she gets herself stuff. it's about 5 years old, walgreens house brand. with a memory feature.
