cogitating on the best approach to capturing all of the wild guppies in the ponds.

the small ones (ponds) are easy enough.

the ones in the big pond might make for funny video footage before we are through.

mr vw is gonna come help once we get tanks set up for them to land in...

they don't do well in the cold weather.

(neither do I any more...)

bought me a new (to me) chainsaw from al.

a john deere (made by echo) old enough it isn't plastic. I think it will be a good saw. it's firkin heavy.

gonna go make it pay for itself next weekend...

gonna make a pork tenderloin for me and smoke.

then settle down and yank the motor out of a donor car.

fun fun fun...

motor is hanging.

gonna pull it out and hose down the floor before I yank it.

feels good to be making money at home again.

how's Alabama today?

It's nice down here. Comfortable nights and warm days...low humidity. Lovely. Absolutely love this time of year. I had chill bumps at practice last night. Love it. But whooweee - the ragweed and fall allergy stuff is kicking in. You should hear all the sniffling at my house.

I opened a window earlier. over the computer.

I need to go start being functional. got a ton of work in the shop now.

weird how that works. first I got none, now I can't do it fast enough.

I'm kinda slow a lot of the time any more.

but I don't care. and I warn all my consumers up front...

we don't play the is it done yet game here.

bubba now follows me everywhere while I work.

Ima teach her to hold the light for me...

my skunk is back.

dint see him, but there is no denying his presence.

I checked, and (thank dog)bubba don't stink. something else around here must have provoked him this time...

I see him often enough, I have decided to name him.

I have a little porcelain skunk named Flower.

mine is black and furry with a raucous white stripe down his ass.

he prances through like he owns the jernt.

mostly he's ok. till he gets spooked.

then we pray for a brisk wind...

Nope - the peewees opted to play travel baseball. Which is crazy busy but it is still fun. Last year they stood a lot on the sidelines during the games but got used as tackling dummies during the practices. They decided that sucked and opted out this year. They are just too small to impress the coaches. If the coaches would put the 1st string offensive line in when he played them - he would see no one can catch them. My babies move like their on wheels.

speaking of wheels, I finally have some. temporary.

gonna go test drive it and see if I make it back home...

made it back with only a coupla stumbles.

mr vw is going to the bluegrass festival for the weekend. (tommy emmanuel is there)

I got animal duties...

and we went through his mom's woodcarvings. she was incredible in her later years. he has been wanting me to look through and take one home to keep for a while now. I'm not certain which one I want. it is down to a coupla different wolves.

but...

in an out of the way box, I happened across the most precious little carving. I had to have it for a special friend, it is so her.... when I told him about why, he refused to take anything for it.
gonna try to send it off tomorrow.

I brought home some fishing equipment.

I gotta get all the wild guppies outta the pond PDQ.

gonna try and get sparky to come help me with the nets.

I'll keep the camera handy.

my guess is, net in one hand, beer in the other...
