I now cannot remember when it was not a hundred degrees or more.

it feels like groundhog day in hell...

off to prepare for major toyota surgery.

yesterday we (I) picked up the rear frame assembly with axle and leaf springs still attached.

gotta cut what of the frame we don't need away today with the big torch...

time I get the torch going, we should be around 110 in the shop.

Ima buy some more popsicles to take along.

and a gatorade...

"Just this week, points on the Little Arkansas at Alta Mills and at Highway 50 near Halstead, both north of Wichita, went dry, meaning there's no water flowing in the river. The only water is in isolated pools."

I can throw a rock where the river used to be...

@JPB,
the ground is covered with leaves.

we won't have a fall this year.

this could be the start of a new dust bowl. very few of the tree rows are left intact from the old days.

rumors are that it's too dry to plant winter wheat unless we get some serious rain.

I don't see it...

The weather is doing there what it has been doing here. Only difference, it seems to be easing somewhat here.

it was supposed to be cloudy and cooler today with a possibility of rain.

nope. they lied. again.

waiting for a pill to kick in, and contemplating what a great cat stinky is. and how unlikely it was that he became mine.

I need to find someone that will take care of him, as the odds are pretty great that he has more years left than me.

speaking of which, I'm waffling on my choice to donate my body to science...

science has done very little to help me. I don't have the cash, and science doesn't do freebies much in Kansas.

I'd be more than happy to give the corpse to them, if they would assist just a little in delaying the arrival date a bit...

got a dilemma...

somebody went into Smoky's house yesterday while we were gone, and stole the kid's flat screen tv.

and nothing else. (my $100 dewalt cordless drill was right there on the way out from the kid's room)

the guns are still by the door. and smoky's bigger tv was easier to get to in the living room.

the only folks knew we were both gone (2 cars were here) were my 91 year old non-driving gramma, and the people (kid's ex-inlaws) that we had to wait on to bring the kid back to the rehab so we could visit him. (the rehab is an hour from our place)

gonna have to re-think locks on the shop, and on my cabin.

certainly gonna look at extending my video coverage to the shop...

@Rockhead,
This sucks.

But locks ain't a bad idea.

If you can't trust the ex-in-laws, who can you trust?
