it's fiirkin ninety degrees today.

with a 30 mph wind...

and I am laying under a powerstroke diesel dumptruck pulling the transmission.

I think this is one of the mid-levels of hell.

I'll have bob ask dante tonight...

gonna stop and grab about 5 bags of angel hair reinforced concrete to mix and spread aboot.. (I have no idea where they get the hair)

and bring my trowels.

I am hoping to be thanked in plants for the shade garden.

went to check on smoky, and his car is crashed up. fender hanging off...

his kid smashed into something last night. something red from the paint left behind...

anyways, one more thing to fix.

paid all my bills up. (ain't done that in a while and a half...)

and filled the top two ponds, after planting two hostas at the base of the middle one. it is officially a pond garden now. we have plants.

verra late dinner, but just being able to eat is a good thing. gonna gather the cats and crash...

smoky's sister passed away yesterday. trying to work with his niece to get him to the funeral. he's pretty broken up by it. seeing an old man cry just about kills me.

looks like I'm going to Denver for the weekend...

we were unable to make a trip to Denver work for Smoky...

and today is the day of the funeral, so we are having a barbecue. he thawed two filets for him and his kid.

I'll have salmon.

making some homemade potato salad and some baked beans.

I tried to get some of his kin to come, but no dice...

we 3 it is.

gonna try and get him up to KC to see his other sis for his birthday.

It's a month to the day after mine.

he'll be 82. I think...

the pond is done but for the carpeting.

I am using old carpet underneath the liner to keep the odd tree root at bay...

it will be delivered Wednesday.

went and helped mr vw trim rogue trees and dead bushes.

came home with a load of verra cool plants.

a dozen or so cannas, 6 spider lillies, a pixie lilly, some Icelandic iris, and my water lilly (repotted and ready to go...)

and some more trumpet creeper.

gonna take gram for dinner tomorrow for mother's day.

no crowds.

then Ima go do her planting for the year.

she wants less every year, but I talked her into some more geraniums, (peach this time) and made her up a hanging wandering jew.

she nixed a tomato plant this year. needs water too often for her liking...

I've been sitting out by the pond and wishing for a few more minutes of miss noddy's time.

I miss her something awful on nights like this...

it's firkin hot.

got to 94 today.

just last week I hadda go scrounge wood for a fire, and schlepp a buncha plants in so's they wouldn't freeze...

Kansas...

took the woodstove out to the shop for the summer so I have a bit more wiggle room.

and fixed my screen doors to keep the inside cats in, and the outside cats away from the big Stinky.

(I've started naming the ferals......Neptune has claimed the pond as his territory)
