weird thing is, the population stays pretty stable.

coyotes is my guess.

the big Stink is digging the screen door program. he's camped on the mat watching the birds bathe. bubba is out by the kitchen door.

our weather has returned to a more normal state. got a sweatshirt on as I finish my chores.

made the rest of my windows open. used the big axe and worked off some angst...

and my pond now has wall to wall golden shag carpeting.

cleaned the liner, and will install over the carpet, and seam it tomorrow.

we'll be adding water by the end of the weekend.

it's gonna be kinda coolio...

worried about friends.

@Rockhead,
I'm glad to see it return to more normal temps too.
I had commited Monday and Tuesday to work with a farmer friend, helping get the planter up and running, irrig. motor mounted, etc, and of course it got blasted hot and windy, and I've gone a bit soft over the winter too.
Got er done though, felt kinda good at the end.

@wayne,
did you get rain?

we got a lot of bluster, but less than a half inch.

we're down like 5 inches here.

the farm ponds are all dusty and empty...

@Rockhead,
We got just a sprinkle on Weds morning, it's getting horrible dry, cracks in the ground in May, this looks bad.
The Ark is fixing to dry up here, hate to see that.

help...

I need an easy way to downsize pictures so that I quit overwhelming a friend with giant photos.

I'm a computer moron, except where I'm not.

this is one of those places.

I did it before on a different box, but it is down with a virus now, and my backup is kinda barebones with programs and such.

prolly why I can still make it go...

thanks in advance.

somebody needs to get the monkey away from the weather control board.

brrrrr. cold and windy.

woke up wet. gonna fix the roof over my bed today, or die trying...

and it is every bit of Friday the 13th here.

if it could go wrong, it has.

plugged the heater in, and everything went dark.

and it went downhill from there...

but we got real rain.

the hole in the back of the trailer is now a real pond. added water. all day...

dint leave the property, trying to mitigate the numerical opposition of the day.

it caught up with me anyhow...

went in to check on the old man. I usually do before bed. make sure he ate, and is feeling ok before he locks the door for the night.

his kid stumbled out of his room, and took a spill by the back door, smashing a glass as he fell.

I picked him up, and he mumbled a thanks dude.

he took two wobbly steps, and did a face plant into the stove.

it looked like an episode of NCIS before we got his nose to quit...

I carried him to bed, and got him some more paper towels, and the glass of mountain dew that started the whole sad gory mess.

Ima hafta call and have a long talk with his daughter in Kentucky. it's none of my business, but the old man can't go on this way.

one of these times I'm not gonna be there, and he's gonna catch a cheekbone or an eye, and there will be no tomorrow.

the old man can't lift him. he can barely get himself around with his cane.

I doubt if the pair of them weighs 200 lbs...

I was gonna have a late dinner, but now I think I'll pass.

real life sucks ass sometimes.

I'm on a mission...

I am having a bierok craving. uhuh...

can't have anymore.

so...

I'm going to dunk a bunch of filling into cornbread batter in a small baking dish...

we'll see how it goes.

another time. tonight will have to be much less gastrically adventurous.

this cold weather has me and the plants wonky.

I woke up with bubba asleep on my neck.

I musta been sleeping pretty good.

dink was crashed in his spot next to my head.

all I could hear when I awoke was birds tweeting and heavy purring.

the freshly filled pond is the most awesomely peaceful place. but chilly yet...

haven't left the farm for a few days.

was s'posed to go get catfood. (canned) Rolling Eyes

me and the kids split a can of tuna. they dint miss a beat. I felt kinda like I was eating cat food, but...

i'm having fried cabbage and asparagus tonight. decided I needed a little protein.

stinky has a big tuna smile going on for it...

and bubba likes the juice best. (strangely enough she doesn't use her paw to drink this, unlike the water, which drives stinky bananas)

@Rockhead,
she's got some good-looking recipes - and even put up a notice when Amazon had a sale on organic brown rice

I want to try making the sweet potato pie with the crushed ginger cookie crust
