pre-bump

I think I may finally be over being sick.

the flu and cold part, not the rest...

and it is over the freezing mark. for now.

gonna go to town and try to get some errands run.

I need to find a focus and follow it.

not my favorite time of year, this...

thinking about maybe setting up to do some sculpture in the basement.

if I can get my welder wired in without much ado...

found a neat old book today.

a textbook for girls.

about the science of cooking.

think I'm gonna keep it...

I bet it doesn't have many microwave recipes in it!

but maybe it will help me decipher my scientific 30's gas range...

gotta fly.

taking the truck (it has more gas).

that means I have to be back before dark thirty.

when the sun goes down it gets mighty cold with no heater...

conversed with the feral mamma cat today while she ate.

she doesn't care for me yet. kinda hissy...

she'll get used to me sooner or later.

Getting colder here with each day that passes. White outside this morning - thick frost covered everything. Pretty to look at, but not so much fun to go out in.

1930's gas range - sounds fun! I'm trying to get the hang of a 2013 combination microwave/convection oven/grill - terrifying!

My grandma did amazing things with an old gas stove. She used matches.

gram uses matches.

my generation is spoiled by modern conveniences.

and my match hole doesn't work so well.

I gotta go in from the broiler and light the ring...

off to town. wally cheated me outta my chevre.

and I gotta make the new printer I got for the salvage yard work for ol' bob.

his christmas favor as it were...

gonna pretend for my neighbors.

got some LED lights on the cheap. and some candy canes. and a big velvet ribbon.

gonna convert one of my pagan pine trees into a christmas tree for a coupla weeks.

just because.

and not in the house.

the one out by the driveway...

needs more lights.

but looks very much like a christmas tree...

I will consider doing some more. after I open my electric bill.

the LEDs take almost no juice.

I miss the decorating thing.

and my neighbors will think I am full of the spirit.

got some wine. and a headache.

gonna meld the two and see what I want to do aboot dinner.

gonna have to come up with a name for my mama cat.

she is getting in the habit of a regular feeding.

no signs of the babies yet, other than a faint mewling through the basement wall...

got a call promoting me to rigger for TSO next week.

needed it.

double money, and jobs are scarce right now...

and I got my second computer up and running. even fixed the noise. the auxiliary fan was full of dust.

gonna set it up as mostly a venue for all of my old computer games. XP stuff...

played arcanum long enough to have a viable character to move forward with.

and I can't find my sim city install disc.

realizing this after I wiped it to start over...

it prolly won't matter until next week.

gonna try and schedule the trike guy and shortening his pedals and controls in over to the salvage tomorrow.

Jimmy is gone fishing for the week, and ol' bob likes some company to work with.

and he wants some help with the 28 Chevrolet he is slowly restoring. (it has an updraft carburetor)

the weather is s'posed to stay in the fiddies all week.

might be fun and profitable...

making some GF oatmeal.

gonna finish moving the miscellaneous pile to the basement I think...

got my rigger's certification.

gumbo for lunch.

gram's groceries.

my new rigging rope.

ordered new straps for the tow dolly.

put the finishing touches on my driveway pagan tree of lights.

and got a call to be the ground rigger for the beach bums at hartman arena. the day after we do TSO until the wee hours.

did not get a call back from trike guy.

maybe a good thing...

and mama cat was waiting by the back screen. even tried to follow me onto the porch to make sure I got what she came for.

gotta find her a name...

I'll be ready for anything as the solstice approaches.

and I will have some January funding...

made some kickass GF DF hot chocolate with big mallows.

finished the tree as the sun set and the warmth evaporated...

got my rope cut. (bought a whole spool. considerably less 'spensive that way)

and I melted and taped the ends.

red. cost me $5 for red tape.

but there are multiple black ropes among the crew. I wanted my own identity...

with my own rope (and a spare I needa sell) and a certificate, I almost feel like I belong up there...


the mail lady told chuck today that he needs to come to town after dark, because my LEDed up tree rocks the night...

had me a breakfast brownie. mmmmmmmm...
