on top of all that, my truck is losing water. fast...

prolly needs a water pump, but really it needs the new motor. I flat don't have time to do a motor swap just now, and I really want to get a transmission built for it before I swap it. so I only have one weekend in it, and I come out of it with a brand new drivetrain.

for now I'm carrying a jug...

well, I had my early dinner. (I never eat this early, but I was famished after playing on the beams)

gonna finish my beer and mosey toward home in a bit.

Stinky will be glad to see me, he opted to stay out again today...

@vonny,
it's already 92 at noon. headed for 101...

gonna take it easy today I think. maybe try and mow this evening if I feel strong enough.

we'll see...

I am trying not to do any imbedded videos on this thread. folks with older computers sometimes can't load the page if it has vids on it.

that's one reason I resurrected this thread. one of my friends was unable to load the music thread most of the time...

I will still occasionally play a vid, but I don't imbed it.

I think some candles and incense and a long hot soaky bath are in my immediate future.

after I go feed the critters...

I think I will use the new "pex" pipe in the house.

when I was young and worked as a contractor's monkey they had just perfected plastic pipe.

I feel sooooo old...

took it easy until evening.

then I went out and repaired the mower, and jumped on.

had to keep a stick with me to clear the chute, but I got the entire forest mowed, albeit with a flashlight to guide me for most of it.

it could look worse.

and with the heat, it has mostly quit growing.

gonna shower and watch "planet of the prehistoric women" on the 'puter...

called in for my dumpster pickup.

gonna go toss in stragglers and stomp it around a bit so it passes muster.

hot today, but verra windy. helps some, but gets to feeling like being inside a convection oven after a while.

odds are that I don't leave the farm today. I have fish in the freezer I can grill if I wanna...

cracked open a can of salmon.

stinky heard it from the other end of the house. he's drinking the juice now.

not sure what to make. snacking on it with some fresh warm from the sun cherry tomatoes. thinking pasta...

hoping my dumpster guy goes on and shows up. he may not like the wind...

I have a kid coming to buy my prelude tomorrow afternoon. unless he doesn't.

them gregslist guys are notoriously flaky and cash deficient...

the dumpster is blocking the road to the back 40 where the cars reside.

Drain the salmon.
Smoosh it into small pieces.
Add an egg. If it's a small can of salmon, add half an egg.
Add salt and pepper
Grate in some onion--or add very finely chopped scallion
Add some bread crumbs (the nonwheat variety)
Heat some oil
Using a large spoon or a ladle, dip the croquettes into the heated oil and flatten them out a little, if they need flattening.
After the croquette is brown on one side, flip it over. Brown on the other side.
When it's brown on both sides, it done.

I like this with fresh string beans.

Mangia, mangia.

@Roberta,
alas.

I alack bread to make from crumbs...

but on the positive side, wally has met udi. and given him one small frozen shelf where I can get bread without a visit to town and the expensive health food jernt.

I think I just roast peppers mushrooms and tomatoes tonight, and toss in the salmon and some brown rice doodles.

I'm kinda less than from my mowing.

and I think about sundown Ima finish some spots I missed...

@Roberta,
it was the croquet thing that threw me.

I made a mean salmon patty before I parted ways with crackers.

nobody seems to make a good GF sody cracker...

I s'pose while I am sitting here killing time I could be downloading my camera to see if there are any shots I might could share.

Ima be a little more cautious with the photos now that I am not in the boonies by my lonesome.

I hate unwanted visitors...
