now I gotta run over to D's and steal 2 aa batteries so my camera will function.



I gave all of mine to L's special needs son for his Thomas the train stuff. he's hell on batteries...

I think Ima give D the three wine coolers that are still in my fridge as a swap.

I'm tired of seeing them every time I open the door. and I can't drink them...

had my anti-valentines dinner.

lotsa broccoli...

and I took all my before photos.

then I cut some square tubing and welded it across the inside of the back of the hood. and then welded 2 braces back to the rear edge.

now it has to stay put when I cut all the support away.

when I'm all done, I will cut the bracing back off, and grind it so it was never there...

I stirred up the coals so baby kitty can snuggle the stove all night.

she's such a pretty little fuzzball...

I will start the cutting with a fresh head.

this is no time for oopses...

gonna fire the stove and get busy.

before noon...

got a fire going in the stove.

and the battery on the charger.

I forgot to do that last night when I shut down.



oh well, my motivation tank is still slowly filling up...

got as far as I can go without an assistant for now.

got power to the fuel pump, and the solenoid on the fender clicks.

now I need to test voltage at the starter with the switch on.

gonna go see if my neighbors need any egss, I am...

got it to turn over a little. but not enough. and then it quit.

so I crawled under it with a big ol' socket wrench and rolled it over by hand.

it's gonna live.

but I gotta go ahead and change the starter to continue.

and I need to crack a fuel line and use the electric fuel pump to get out all of the 5 year old stinky gas...

and I have a trailer load of old oak coming for my troubles so far.

working for tree cutters does have some perks.

and my woodpile was getting scary low...

and, my weekend just got better.

the truck fired up.

old gas, bad starter and all...

it's gonna run out.

and the title is gonna take at least 3 weeks to clear.

so I don't hafta bust my ass to do it all at once.

there's lotsa little things gonna hafta happen to make it roadworthy.

starting with exhaust work. it's LOUD...

I think Ima lock up and go see if my direct deposit came in today.

and if it did, Ima go get some dinner...

lots to get done this weekend.

gotta eat better...

My friend Brenda (very very occasional poster and NYC travel friend of Noddy) was recently put on a gf/df AND coffee free diet. Bit of a grumpy gal at dinner tonight. It's only been a few days - I think it'll take a while to get over missing coffee. On the upside, I could point her in the direction of some decent websites as a result of the explorations done through this thread.

Gotta eat healthy eh.

my diet has definitely suffered this week while I have been so poor.

having a salad to start tonight.

then have a bbq pork feast from the little small town deli.

they rock on friday nights.

hadda go get some chicken scratch feed anyways...

tossed another log on in the shop to keep it warmed up while I snarf.

(at least they pulled the gas tank. and used a late model...)

but glad I went out and worked the extry two hours.

that's when the cool stuff usually happens...

did my surgery to remove the crusty sub-structure.

successful. no marks on the surface of the hood. clean exit at the pinch joint.

now I'm ready for the welding on the surface.

tomorrow.

needs a fresh head again...

but I feel like king of the world when I do some of what I do.

I just need to do more of it.

I showered and got all cleaned up to go mess with two tanks full of rotten gas.

after a year or five (as is the case here) it goes sour.

smells awful, and doesn't burn right.

this beast has dual tanks both on F.

I have to find a way to dispose of 30 gallons of biohazardous funk.
