It's about "chicken consciousness" in Hollywood movies. The chicken was a sacred bird in the ancient Sumerian religion because of its excessive timidity, its inability to fly and its obvious ridiculousness.

Pious adherents are supposed the stand up in the cinema when a chicken scene comes on screen and flap their elbows screeching individual versions of the noise a startled chicken makes.

The best chicken scene in my experience is the one at the end of Convoy when Kristofferson crashes his truck into a chicken factory unit.

Chickens good.

Gun fights, not so much, but I'd probably do better in a gun fight than trying to get an egg away from a chicken.

I was not involved in the gun play. and I don't think I know the suspect, although there is a rumor that it is an acquaintance and sometimes business associate...

getting the eggs is easy.

open the food barrel and pick up a feeder, and they all come running / flying.

I decided to go borrow D's kitchen sink to clean my shrimps. (makin' creole)

Only humane way I know is a have a heart trap. They cost more than they are worth, but I have caught skunks in one before.
