gonna clean up the kitchen and start a pork roast in the cooker. taters and carrots too.

it's windy as hell outside, so I can't work with the doors open in the shop. every leaf in Oklahoma would be inside...

got my back beaten into submission for now.

took a little nap this morning. won't be doing that again. yowza. I think my nebbors heard me scream when I jerked awake...

mmmmm.

now my house smells wonderful.

and I put a coupla great big portabello shroom caps on top of it whilst it slowly makes gravy fixins...

now Ima go get all rusty. and covered in ick...

but I think a shower will be just the thing before dinner.

and I think Ima invite alvin. he rarely comes in contact with a roast beast...

he wants to come cut some more wood now that he almost has a stove.

had to come in and let the compressor cool down.

smells wonderful in here...

gotta check the weather and see what I have left before it falls into the freezer. might be staying up late again, it's perfect painting weather tonight...

Supposed to get down into the 40's during the day here starting Saturday with lows in the low 30s and some 20's for about 3 to 4 days.

I presume you'll get it a day or two ahead of us.

I'm painting fenders tonight.

prep work is all done.

Ima take a shower and eat some roast.

then I will go fire up the paint booth...

dang, whoever suggested a shower should get a promotion.

actually, I had to clean up and change clothes to paint. now if I bump into something, I leave a clean cloth print instead of something yucky that would contaminate my paint...

but I feel better. my back is almost ok for now. (it will hurt like hell in the morning)

gonna make me a plate of roast.

and feed the damn cats, stinky is about to have an aneurism over here next to me...

you know it's lat when bob and tom comes on and you're still spraying paint.

but I'm done for today/yesterday.

did the back sides of all 4 fenders and the deck lid. (the hood is still all fugged up, don't ask)

gonna hafta see what the cure time is before I can shoot back into it...

I hope tomorrow night.

debating the merits of going to bed for a little while.

right now the odds favor just staying up and having it be tomorrow.

and for any aspiring car painters out there, I used the 1.4 tip this time instead of the 1.7, and it worked immensely better.

dark chocolate with goji berry, pecans, and maca.

kinda odd that they would put endangered species in it*, but the macas are delicious. and no beaks or feathers...

a long long long time ago, I used to throw a giant commercial paper route before I went to work at NAPA for the rest of the day.

my wife helped on wednesdays and sundays. she'd sit in the back and fold while I drove and slung papers.

anyways, to keep her entertained, and because I get kinda loopy weird when I get real tired (you can ask Izzie or JPB if you don't believe me) I made up a song about our cat becoming roadkill. (he hated me)

I would add a new verse as it struck me.

and she'd sing the chorus with me while we drove around tossing out the news...

now I'll be singing that damn song all the way to town.

What about a coat of lanolin on the hands before you paint so they have a thin film of protection?

as to something on my hands, that's a no-no.

a lot of painters were rubber gloves, but I don't like them. make my hands sweat.

gotta be careful that the oil in my hands does not contaminate my surfaces...

it's just best to leave them dry and chafing until I'm done.

off to make some tea and try to function without a pain pill.

went out to fire up the stove and get things ready.

and I remember one of the reasons I like this primer.

I'll scuff the edges where I blend it, but I can shoot back in in 24 hours no questions asked.

and it dries like a hard shell over the questionable iron...
