@ehBeth,

she has an ugly coat of feathers. and a mustache...

I just gotta wait and see if she crowns or not.

my feral kitties are gonna love me.

I have a big platter of bones and gristle from my chicken soup.

they will all come sprawling out when the aroma gets under the trailer...

and the soup is gonna be awesome.

in about an hour...

hmmmmm.

when I went back out, it was just D and Jack. and the dog.

and she (D, not the dog) was ready to go home and crash. she's an early person...

but she said grampa Jack wanted to talk to me about doing some stuff for him on the farm. handyman kinda stuff.

which honors the hell outta me, cuz he has two grown sons, and a handful of grown grandsons to pick from.

Ima go back over when I get about in the morning (about noon I'd guess) and get the stuff I tagged. and discuss things further.

I want to swap for glass power pole insulators first.

there must be a hundred of them. lotsa the green ones. (box said $2 each)

I haven't decided what I wanna make them into yet, but they are really cool glass that will throw a neat reflection...

and I bought one of those old steppy stools that flips up inside itself. very fifties. $10.

(this is why I stay away from country garage sales)

I spent over a hundred bucks at the sale...

but.

I got a ton o' stuff that I sorta needed...

a solvent tank. (been acquiring parts to build one. now I don't gotta)

some camo bibs.

an antique mixer with bowls.

two verra cool hand carved african figures.

a bunch sterling picture frames.

some sterno.

a laser level.

a new computer table, with keyboard tray.

a glass lid for my crockpot (I hate the plastic one)

5 lamp kits.

two cool brass and copper flower sprays.

just an amazing amount o' stuff...

but grampa jack wants me to put rocker panels in his truck soon, so I will get it all back, and then some.

as soon as the damn vert gets finished...

gonna go fire up the shop and work toward that end after I eat something.

I'm kinda thinking aboot halloween...

I have an awesome costume this year, but I don't know that I can wear it without getting in trouble here on the prairie.

it would have to be at a private party. a bar would end badly for sure...

the crispy kid was a wanna-be biker.

he has the full leather ensemble...

I could go as the village people biker dude. he even has the hat.

but I'm not sure Kansas is ready for that...

(he had a honda 650)

@ehBeth,
I needed something to go with my south american art pieces.

and they were 50 cents.

she has no idea why her mom had them, but was really happy to see them go.

not really what you'd expect to find at a Kansas country garage sale...

her mom was a very neat lady.

there is a knitting machine there. and a quilting frame. and an entire room of ceramic pieces in various states of doneness...

this was kinda interesting.

I enjoyed the time I spent in Vermont. (and one of my favorite people is from there)

Americana revisited: Rockwell's models reuniting

"Twenty or so people who were children when they posed in the 1940s and '50s for their neighbor Norman Rockwell in the Vermont town of Arlington are reuniting there Saturday to share their memories of the great American artist who once lived in their midst..."

OK...

I gotta call D in the morning and tell her I want all the rest of the records.

at a quarter each, I can't pass them up.

several of the ones I already purchased are valued in the $25 to $50+ range.

I can shell out another $10 to see what I find...

@Rockhead,
We love yard sales too Rockhead. The Mr got a rockin' sound system for the garage/studio this summer -- a 70's era Harmon Kardin (sp?) tuner with a Sony turntable hooked up to an old "Victor" speaker (from a movie projector) -- tres cool Cool

Glad to hear you're not camping anymore!
