gonna open the shop and be the plumber dude.

kinda sluggish yet, but it's early.

and I'm full of red hot chili peppers.

he's to be helping me, so I won't subject him to my shop music...

ok.

home for breakfast. scrambled and toast with new peach jelly...

got the offending section of floor out.

2 by 5 with absolutely zero structure underneath.

gonna take some of my lumber and build some subjoists to support my patch.

the existing floor is wet sawdust board. I'm going back in with 3/4 high grade plywood.

they are deciding what we top it with.

it's a small enough area I said I would do whatever they wanted, even tile...

the more time I spend helping, the more I will make.

I told them a hundred a day will be the neighbor rate.

I'll save them a bundle, and it will last them their lifetime...

I hadda run to town and buy a belt sander before they closed the belt sander store.

gonna have some serious level issues where plywood meets sawdust board...

@Rockhead,
Yup. My floor is sawdust board. I covered over the whole thing with plywood.

@msolga,
I got the model with a dirtbag, msO.

I'm working in the middle of a little old lady's house.

very carefully...

you know how to tell a vacuum cleaner from a harley davidson, right?

on a bike, the dirtbag is on top...

got all the substructure built.

takin' a bob break, then Ima make a very important 4 foot cut in my plywood.

after that, it's all gluing and screwing downhill.

and it looks fabulous...

@Rockhead,
That's good. Bob can help you make the very important cut.

@Ticomaya,
indeed.

without bob, the cell phone cabinet from hell woulda never got built...*

done for tonight.

got the original level all replaced.

they will go shopping for vinyl while I get the top level cut and drilled and ready.

then we'll start shaving sawdust board until it comes close to level.

the rest is easy...

it all fastens to stuff I have brought back to kosher.

*(there is actually a very funny story involving your folks and bob, crazy belinda, and the cell phone adventure, but it would be wrong to tell it here)

I gotta eat something so I can crash before dawn.

and check on my chickens.

I need to replace their light so I can see them when I feed and water them.

I could have guest pigeons and never know it. I always wind up doing them after dark, and I can feel my way to the water barrel and food table.

but I miss seeing them and stroking them while we chat...

@Rockhead,
I have a spare torch, just in-case because I often forget to get outside in time before dark, to lock up the rabbit ...

You are making my head dizzy reading all that hard work, glad you are eating although peach jelly, with scrambled eggs? That was a new one to me.
