just me and susie left.

she's the old gal with nose cancer...

she's out here on the couch with me, but will go sleep with mr vw and all the other animals when I crash...

gonna stay here tonight.

too many coppers out looking for drunks, and my tags expired friday while I was working in the roundhouse.

gonna slip home in the morning and start my day like a non-vampire kinda dude...

it was the best guppy harvest ever, even though he got very few guppies.

we will fish mine out when he gets back from his annual journey to the bluegrass festival in Winfield next week. my pond is loaded.

the picker that was here is one of the performers from the festival...

gonna settle in on the couch and try to sleep. I didn't bring a happy pill, but I will double up tomorrow. my stress levels are down some, I should cruise through it ok.

nytol...

weird day.

hadda come over to mr vw's and take a nap...

but I am a rigger now. he said to work on my knots. I asked which knots. bowline and clove hitch.

done.

I was a scout, you know...

and I use a lot of rope on the farm. no sweat.

I think the 100 degree crap is all over with now. I hope...

gotta decide what the rest of my day is aboot.

I learned bowline and clove hitch in bootcamp. Every time I have employed a bowline, post naval drip, the guys around me did not understand it and called it originality of screwing up a knot.

dinner was awesome.

dr dave was in town, and brought his guitar.

he blows in and out like the wind...

I hafta find him a new rear axle for his toyota before he leaves. he ran it dry in baja. and now it whines pretty hard...

big day ahead. got a clear head, and lots of opportunities popping up.

I turned down a chance to fly out to Diego and work an event, but sooner or later I will accept one.

I gotta get outta Dodge for a while...

scary thought for the day...

I was talking to the head rigger in charge of the lion king the other night.

I was a little short on how much weight is suspended over the stage.

550,00o pounds. he has pictures from up above.

it's solid stuff all the way down...

and they ripped a fiber optic star screen on the test run. (there are 2)

much scrambling to alter the workings in a hurry.

off to town I am...

gentle breezes...

@JPB,
I marked it on the calendar just in case...

mowed until I ran outta gas. saw lightning happnin to the west and figgered if I didn't tackle it now, I would have to break out the bush hog.

finished in the rain, but it looks like someone lives here again.

I'm contemplating moving into the big trailer for the winter.

dunno...

@ehBeth,
I hafta go see the owner of the vert, and help him order a top. and a whole lotta rubber seals.

I can see the end of that job...

and I don't want another major restoration like that for a bit until I get my ducks in a row.

I've got my next project, but it is on a snail pace, and the kid has a perfect attitude about it...

and I'm not committed to paint it.

I'm not sure I want to be a professional painter...

(I just want to paint my own stuff)

I think I can go back to what I wanted to do when my life first fell apart.

I once had a scholarship in theater design...

and if I get my certifications above the stage, I can move wherever I wish and work as much as I want to when gram no longer needs supervision.

lots to think aboot...

@sozobe,
thank you...

it feels weird to speak of them.

it's raining. and I don't have wipers.

so I think Ima start cleaning out my new bedroom...

and I'll go check on my little old mower guy. I gave him some materials I had left to finish the floor in my cabin.

he's trying to put a wood stove in his old mobile home.

I don't want to see him burn hisself out.

so I'm being extra generous in my assistance. he's poorer than me, and that's hard to do...

one of the perks of the new position.

riggers don't go down for their 15 minute smoke break, they go up...

I haven't been on the roof of century 2 for 30 or so years.

it's a hella view, that one...
