I'm waiting on my drill to recharge. my spare battery is junk.

I'm putting up chair stops and handrails to keep him from tumbling offa the porch until I can get some lattice bought and installed.

then Ima water and crash.

tomorrow is gonna come early.

I need a vacation.

I just lost it with smoky. had to leave for a bit...

nobody ever showed today.

got his dishes all done, and am washing his soiled bedding.

his laundry is one load from done.

gotta wait for the trash service before I can throw much more away.

and I went in to sit and have a salad where it's cool, and he is wobbling around with his cane trying to find what "I did" with his phone charger.

and then wanting to go through the piles for silly little **** that may or may not be there.

I tried to explain to him that if he falls again, they're not gonna let him come home again.

damned if I don't need a calgon moment...

spent some time in the pond garden. itsa verra peaceful place, even when it's 100 out. nice deep shade, and water plants rustling in the breeze...

got my 15th money delivered. he forgot to mail it and his car has A/C. so, he brought his german shepherd with and let her run the farm. (excited the feral cats a bit). and then I put some of it in the bank so my phone can be reinstated.

the rest needs to buy some food...

gotta put together dinner for smoky now.

I think we're having chinese chicken and rice.

If I have enough veggies...

he's contently eating and watching his rasslin'...

I'm adjusting my attitude and getting ready to go mow.

been watering out by his new front porch so it doesn't overlook a desert.

but the sandburrs are mostly what is flourishing.

gonna wear jeans so I don't curse so much...

paid my phone ransom.

fed the gatos.

and went out to commune with my chickens for a while (yes, I have socialist chickens)

they are verra mellow about this time of night/morning.

sleepy chickens.

I filled the feeders and gave them clean water. they think they are owls...

they sleep in the rafters of the coop.

several were too sleepy to eat, and they let me stroke their breasts and talk to them. (that sounds kinda off, but I am not molesting my hens)

they are starting to get their whiskers.

and they are beautiful birds. golden heads with mottled bodies. and my rooster is firkin gorgeous (I gave the ugly one to larry the chintz) he's black with tinges of red in his feathers.

and not as aggressive as the other guy was.

I'm hoping they stay as calm and quiet as they are now.

mellow chickens are the best...

gotta crash now.

Zzzz

@ehBeth,
finally had a competent visitor today.

the physical therapy guy...

and he's gonna try and straighten out the flaky gals that never showed. (they called and left a message for me to call them back and schedule a time for the visit. which I got yesterday when I left the property and my phone picked them up...)

why do you need an appointment with an old man that can't leave the house...?

he worked with smoky getting up and down the ramp, and into my truck with proper form. (we had been doing it right, gram is just now fully over her hip surgery from 6 years ago.)

and he wanted to know who smoky had build his porch and ramp, as it was much nicer than the average ramp he sees.

smoky even bragged on me a little...

twill be over a hundred for as far as they are forecasting. with no rain...
