@mismi,
I'm kinda worried about the little buggers, too...

but I'm not at the ranch again yet. over to mr vw's.

got the print shop fired up making business cards. feels like old times...

I did them in layers so I can change the background drawing to fit the clientele.

they look good. goggle images is the sh*t...

gotta go find the promoter now. he's broken down in his old bus, and I gotta go unstick a wheel while I drop off the stack o' cards...

cloudy and not as hot. I wish I was home fencing.

ok, no I don't but I should be...

smoky's x-rays are clean, it's just the normal pain of being 81 with a new hip.

I told him to suck it up and hurry up and get strong enough to get the hell home.

he hates the rehab joint, and they aren't on my christmas card list, either...

@ehBeth,
I think they are probably over north by the big sheep ranch.

I stopped there, but nobody answered the door. and the place was scary. seriously scary.

probably very nice folks that live there, but...

the front door appeared unused, so I went to the back slider. you could see paths through the piles of debris, but, there were multiple cars and I know at least 4 people come and go (I mow next door)

and there were two big barking sounds coming from within.

Ima try and go back and use a big hallo from the driveway this time...

it rained again last night. I am still amazed when it does. last years drought left scars...

anyways, yesterday while I was running errands, I stopped by and saw my old dutch gardener friend.

got 7 new $1 closeout plants with some food money. more noodles and potatoes, but some color in the garden of giant green...

I called a gardening day. it was too nice to work in the shop. I'll do that tonight...

got all my stuff planted, and three wheel barrows of grass cleaned out, and two bags of mulch applied. I need more mulch.

I've concluded that buying mulch is cheaper than making my own. unless I just have nothing else to do with my time. I don't...

but my garden has never looked as nice, and it is just getting started. lotsa great big plants are just small images of what they will become.

and we have some color now...

@ehBeth,
still no goats.

I miss the little buggers...

I'm getting ready to ride the mower down to the sheep ranch and try again.

that is, to attempt to contact them once more, not to act as a bizarre australian dude...

damn latin scholar people anyways...

I got a mystery plant.

very pretty but it might hafta move if it wants more sun. he wasn't sure what it was, but it was a dollar, and has purply leaves...

@Rockhead,
Ew......one of my least favorite letters.... K
Sorry - I think I may be able to follow better now. Fantasy Baseball that is.

So does your purply leaf plant look like this?

That is Purple Heart Wandering Jew I think. We had some. I managed to leave my old place without getting some to propagate here. Oh well.

@mismi,
no. I have one of those, too. so does gram, I started hers from mine...

even my plant guy wasn't sure what to call it. then he gave me a latin name for it that went right out the other ear.

it grows from a central core with pointed leaves. green on top, purple on bottom...
