@McTag,
it damages and weakens the sidewall to run them flat. usually buggers the wheel, too. and then they can do the blowout thing .

they don't want a lawsuit. at least here in the wild west...

better safe than dead, I always say.

time to be proactive instead of freaked out...

I am armor plating the cage with 1/2 inch screen wire.

it will take a mighty small critter to get in now...

got my watering all done, gonna have a sammich and go build a trophy.

them fellers are getting antsy. the show is next weekend. then tomorrow, I gotta go get some card stock so I can make business cards to be put in the goody bags.

damn it's late...

but I made the coolest sculpture for my trophy. I used a rusty old bearing race and some old flat iron to make a big rusty crusty vw logo, and attached it to an old cylinder with half a broken crankshaft and a broken piston splayed out of it.

it's very crusty rusty cool.

(the trophy is for junkiest motor)

now Ima eat some tater tots and crash...

I dint eat earlier, I got involved in moving my new compressor to its new home so we can hook it in, and cleaning up the shop so I can work hard this week...

now I'm stinky and starving.

got a shower almost boiled up and ready...

anyways, me and stinky are headed for the pillows.

everything is getting better but the one I can't fix...

checked on the chix.

24 and no snake.

@Rockhead,

It's my lucky day, my tyre was repairable, £15 plus tax for puncture repair and re-balance.
Good to go.

@ehBeth,
still 24...

a garter snake might be able to get through my defenses, but I think they could peck it to death. my wire is pretty small mesh.

I went over to mr vw's to fiberglass the trophy together.

he thinks it rocks as well.

I'm very happy with how it turned out. had him take a photo of it. I wish I could just do sculpture instead of fixing broken stuff, but there is no market for art here. and no money to speak of...

@ehBeth,
I think it's not a terrible idea.

I wish now I had photos of some of the cool stuff I've done. never gave it much thought until money got so hard to come by...

I'll build you a trike if you come pick it up...

I want to put a small (illegal) motor on one and buzz around until I get in trouble...

I've been keeping an eye out for old cool bike frames at the salvage.

@Rockhead,
there's a place near where I wait for a streetcar ... Bike Sauce

they've built a cool bench out of bike parts - rims for arm rests - seats as head rests ... I need to get a pic of it

@ehBeth,
I'm cleaning up a property that has lotsa cool od rusty bits. I'm bringing as much home as I am scrapping sometimes.

anything that has a purpose or looks inspiring. iron is high as hell to buy new right now.

@ehBeth,
thats kinda ugly.

reminds me of a pedal powered 1905 REO.

without all the antique charm...

I try to not build anything that is gonna be unstylish.
