@ehBeth,
gram and I were going to do lunch. after my smoky meeting. then, as I was taking smoky back to his room, a nurse asked me if I was going to the doctor with him.

I said huh????

they had forgot to call me.

so I waited in town and met him at the orthopedists.

and then they forgot to pick him up, so I waited another hour.

and gram is pissed.

I lost on all counts...

I called a lump day.

(I'll try to do it right this time, B)

it's hard to be sad when you're watching goats. goats are very happy little critters.

I've been trimming trees, and tossing them the branches so they can eat the leaves.

they really like leaves...

things are slightly better now.

stinky jumped through the hole in the screen leaving fur on all sides just as I was calling it a night the other day. he's been awol until this morning...

after a violent hail storm last night, I kinda expected to see his fat butt.

he was laying on the front step waiting for me.

dint meow or anything, just walked in like he owned the joint. then had to complain that his dish was empty...

and my goats are getting fat. can baby goats get too fat?

I'm not giving them but a small amount of sweet feed in the evening, but they are eating up my volunteer trees at an astonishing rate...

@Rockhead,
I asked the zoo keeper about all of the broad bellies in the petting zoo on the little goats. It's gas. You got gassy goats dude.

Wink

I was painting my bathroom and broke the toilet seat when I lost my balance and fell off the ladder. I just sucked it up and kept painting until I stepped down from the ladder again and noticed that there was a puddle of something red on the ladder rung. Nice little gash in my foot that I got from breaking my toilet seat lid.

Your suckish day rubbed off on me. Maybe not AS bad - but still.
I am seriously grumpy now.

Well, now that we have our own goatherd on A2k, I feel the site has somehow reached a level of completion it lacked before. Way to go, Rocky.

I'm with you, Andy - I didn't realise just what was wrong with this burg til we got a goatherd, and goats.

Now - the sun is shining, Dutchy is out of hospital, and I'm gadding about singing: High on a hill there's a lonely goatherd...la la.la

So now we just neeed a hill!

I gotta go do something.

It's a gorgeous day, and I feel like I'm mado lead...

but there's a ton o stuff needs doing.

Named my goats. (subject to change...)

Agnes, Lil' Bit, and Chaka Khan.

nothing quite as cute as the baby goat "get spooked hop".

they bounce away like little horned tiggers. boing boing boing...

and they are surprisingly silent so far.

yeasterday I came back and they were outta the main pen into the supplemental area we built.

as soon as they saw me, they wiggled back through the hole into the real pen. like they knew they were where they weren't supposed to be.

kinda spooky smart.

and the horns are growing. aboot two inches long now.

Agnes head butts Lil Bit a lot...

@Rockhead,
Glad you finally gave the kids names. Good names, I might add. I'd love to see the boinging. I guess I'll just have to use my imagination.

Sorry to hear you feel like lead. Gold wouldn't be see bad--very heavy but shiny and worth something.

@Roberta,
I took a pain pill or two and got busy...

pulled out a buncha more fence and posts. started diggin a hole for my iron main gate post. weeded around the chicken / goat pen so I can better see my baby goatses. did a buncha weeding. mowed the pond garden grass so I could enjoy the moonlight tonight. and watered everything thoroughly.

also made my asparagus patch into a small raised bed...

and trimmed some trees to feed the kids.

they are becoming less afraid of me. I squatted and talked to them after I filled their feed pan, and they ate within touching distance. watching me nervously the whole time.

they are too cool. and Agnes is a bully goat...

also had long chats with gram and smoky. they are both terrible lonely. and gram is about to come unglued over her kids...

but she won't let me intervene yet.

yet...

Yahoo sports had the audacity to bag on my assistant missy coach...

I quote:

"No Medals Yet...

Amazingly, Missy has not earned ANY medals in this league."

she'll be peeved.

if she ever stops back by...

gotta shower boiling up, I got stinky. manky even.

what a beautiful moon.

wishing my favorite photographer was here to shoot it...

Little goats are awesome. Wishing I could have seen the moon.. mother nature decided to leave the blinds down all day. I'm hoping tomorrow is nearly as spectacular..

@Ceili,
I busted up the brush pile that is gonna become my hill. started tossing compost onto it. it will be a while before it truly takes shape, but it already looks better just knowing where it's headed.

I will call it goat hill when it is complete...

late night, but I'm clean, and I got lots done.

hoping tomorrow I don't start out nearly so wonky. I gotta run to wally's and get some food and drinking water. I'm down to my last emergency gallon.

and I may try moving the goats to the pasture. depends on how much fence I get finished.

time to Zzzzzzzzzzzzz...

kinda lost in my thoughts tonight.

my friend D lost her mom to cancer today.

it's been coming for a while now. I stopped at her daughters to get her cell number, as I usually just stop in, but she's been gone all the time of late. her eldest grandson answered the door and then did the wavering thing when I asked if his mom was home. he kinda knows who I am. he decided he could tell me that she was out to the farm.

about that time the littlest guy comes to the door and announces that gramma's brain is in heaven now...

then the big kid started to cry.

I went over and mowed her yard for her before the rains hit, and wrote her a little note.

I'm kinda at a loss for words.

imagine that...

@msolga,
I don't see grampa jack making it very long without her either.

Ima see if maybe him and smoky might hit it off when he gets back. maybe I'll take him out there and let them visit a little.

they're good folks...

@Rockhead,
I hope they do like each other.

Strange, how often that happens ....
One partner in a long, established relationship dies, & the other follows, not too long after.
I hope that won't happen in this instance.
