still looking for electric fence parts. I think they will be the place for that...

yes on the farm supply question. they are where I get my big elephant ears and my welding and air supplies.

I just looked at our forecast after the rain moves off...

97 degrees on Saturday. May 5...

that's just not acceptable.

I swapped some sunflowers as it started to rain. with my mower guy. he has some of the ones folks think of when they think of Kansas. with the big giant heads.

mine grow up to 15 feet tall, but have hundreds of little sunflowers on them.

I got 4 of his, I sure hope they rain in and take hold before the heat sets in...

gonna try to stick kinda close to home today.

tomorrow I have a meeting with the staff about smoky. at ten in the morning...

and then gonna try to do lunch with gram. guts permitting...

and then bring her out to see the ranch. if she feels like it...

so I'm kinda lumping a little. weeding the gardens because everything is so wet.

maybe go mow over to rosy's if it dries out enough. big winds for the next few days...

for a lump day, I sure worked my ass off...

mowed all of rosy's place, and finished what of mine I didn't quite get in the rain.

pulled out 50 foot of unwanted fence, and removed most of the posts...

mowed that down, and what used to be my vegematable garden. now to be my back yard. I think Ima turn my old garden brushpile into one of those canadian hill planter thingies ceili is always talking about.

just so I can have a hill...

used the landscape timbers from the old garden to border the marigold and morning glory bed.

and weeded the sunflower patch outside the cabin door. this is gonna be rockin cool this year. stepping stones through the giant sunflowers...

and made the compost heap a real deal instead of a pile for future use.

I think smoky forgot to pay the trash again. they stole my container today.

I think Ima ask D if I can recycle my plastic at her place. if she will let me, I can then naturally take care of the rest of my refuse...(still running a burn barrel) and they can go to hades.

I'm all dry now, gotta fall down and sleep for a few. a very few...

whats a hill planter? I have a new area Im considereing for raised bed gardening but I want it looking nice becuse its sorta in the front of our new barn

it has a german sounding name. kurkledunnker or some such.

ask me again when it's not morning...

today has been one giant sized cluster f*ck...

if it could go wrong, it did.

over to mr vw's having a bowl of noodles, waiting for my doctor to figure out what he prescribed last time. apparently they have no record of it.

and the smoky thing went to hell in a handbasket. for as much money as they charge, they sure can't do anything correctly...

and gram is mad because I had to cancel on her.

she thinks I should back up and just let smoky's family do for him.

she's got a lot of damn nerve sometimes...

So sorry. I hate days like that.

I got home to find my goats out.

at least they were munching rogue trees instead of tropical flowers, but still...

called earache, and we wrangled them back in the pen. and built an auxiliary pen for when they break out again. cost me a beer...

I needa finish the pasture fence soon.

but not today, cuz it would just get screwed up like everything else did...

living with toddlers can be difficult - they're houdinis regardless of species

I'm getting real good with a section of wire fencing, but it requires a partner to be the dog while I move the fence...

he's the best dog I have right now.

actually he's a big help. and a bored bachelor right now...

Ima have a bbq pork sammich and some tater tots in a bit, and see if food helps.

I mostly didn't get any today.

the plan kept changing as new information popped up. information I shoulda had days ago at least.

I think I set mosta the wrongs right without stepping on innocent toes, but those people just smile and say what you want to hear for the most part.

we'll just hafta wait and see if things progress or not...
