Home now...

kinda tired and uninspired...

got a bottle of slime to try and fix the mower tire. if it works, Ima mow the chicken coop before it gets dark on me.

stopped at wally's and got some more popsicles and a big bag o taters.

still gonna be lots o taters in my future...

I got the most beautiful surprise today...

last year I bought a buncha perennials. some of which got hammered early into the drought.

I walked around the corner today and there was a whole sprinkle of bright pink bleeding hearts...

I'd completely forgotten about planting them.

they had a significance at the time.

I gotta charge my camera batteries now...

@Rockhead,
Nice!

They'll wilt away every summer once it gets hot. Mine are in bloom too.

@JPB,
my hostas are trying to poke up, but it looks like a bunny rabbit or a deer has found them. something has been munching on them...

I think Ima spend the day gardening. it was 'posed to be a gram day, but I fell down this morning. just now able to be away from my cabin.

smoky is off somewheres running around, too. his car is gone.

I cut down about 25 trees last night. I don't think my shoulders wanna axe today.

maybe I'll fire up the chain saw instead. I try to do most of what I'm doing with 1880's technology, unless it slows down the works too much.

It's like going to the gym, and having a free laborer at the same time...

@Rockhead,
I spray my hostas with coyote urine. Keeps the deer away. A cheaper way is to shave some Irish Spring soap near your hostas. Deer won't come anywhere near it. Blood meal, human urine, and human hair work for rabbits. Don't pee on the hostas, but you can make patterns in the dirt.

@JPB,
you'd think if Stinky was gonna stay out all night that at least he would watch out and run the critters away from the garden.

damned cat...

Sorry - the whole idea of someone making pee-pee patterns in the dirt around their hostas makes me giggle. Potty humor. Can't resist it.

@mismi,
as long as it's good for the plants, it's artful gardening.

If you want, next time I'll write your name...

@Rockhead,
Totally cracked me up. That is about the sweetest thing anyone has EVER offered to do for me. Pee my name around the hostas. Hilarious.

I think Ima skim all the firkin algae off the top off the pond today, and sacrifice (maybe) some test guppies.

it's crazy early, but the water is not that cold.

If I don't get some kinda fish in there soonish, I will raise a world record crop of mosquitos.

we don't want that...

@Rockhead,
I wonder - are they saying they are expecting any cold snaps? I know next week we are supposed to be cooler...but we are in the upper 70's lower 80's right now...I am not sure what the lows are...I suppose I could look that up.

@Rockhead,
Don't go too nutso eh.

"They" (the Dick van Pattens of Pasadena) say that if you haven't been doing something for some time, it'll take that long to get back to where you were before.

sooooooooooo if it's been 4 years since you were in 4th gear, it'll be 4 years to get to 4th gear again.

Take it easy eh.
