I thought I wanted ducks, but I don't want them crapping in my guppy ponds.

my chickens will lay easter eggs. I think I can sell all the eggs I can produce. I've been checking around, and it seems that no one locally has even heard of araucanas.

I think gram is gonna get them for my birthday. delivery times right now put it out about that far...

Rock, you should look into those chicken they breed for feathers. Now that the hairdressing industry is using them, it's getting harder for fishermen... persons.. to find them for flys.

I mostly like the way the araucanas look.

they look kinda like a little feathery scotsman without a kilt.

Ok, I looked them up. My granny had chickens like that, but she called them banties. Not sure if they are the same breed or not, but the eggs look the same.

I'm still waiting for farmerman to finish his danged sentence...

I want to order them tomorrow or Thursday, before the ship date gets pushed back any further.

gonna have mr vw come over and help me make a chicklet nursery in the hen house.

I think Ima run new power over there while I am finishing up the cabin electricity later this spring...

I have a friend (the fish wholesaler guy) that would give me regular old bantam chickens for free.

I think it will be fun to be a farmer.

and I think my uncle will come help me get things set up better. he was my grandad's labor force for a long time.

he built 55, 6 and 7 chevys in the barn when he wasn't working the farm. he's the one got me involved in custom cars...

Good conduit is our friend when we have electricity and livestock in close proximity.

my peach tree is covered in new leaves, and my rosy sharons are adorned in baby budlets. if we don't get a big freeze, this is gonna be an awesome plant year...

called gram. told her if it wasn't raining tomorrow when I take her to get her hair done, that I wanna cut down the ugly ass tree that her kids planted for her against her wishes last year.

it's butt ugly and misshapen, kinda like the relationship that it came from...

she's gonna think on it and let me know in the morning if she is courageous enough to let me do it. if so, Ima go get her a tree she likes and plant it where she wanted a tree in the first place...

Just random, Robert De Niro joked at an Obama fundraiser that America isn't ready for a white first lady. LOL. Oh wait, he made a racial joke AGAINST white people. White conservative people are pissed! There's a lot of "What if it had been reversed?" bullshit questions being asked. The joke was funny because we've had DOZENS of white first ladies and only 1 black one. THAT'S THE JOKE!

I live in the state where it's ok to make racist statements about Mrs Obama...

I'm home. and cold. and wet. tired of this rainy crap. got here just in time to dump the buckets. an inch from the top.

The sound of rain is so welcomed! We got just enough to water everything this evening.

I'm on my third day of it.

it can leave anytime and not bother me.

everything has gone full green, so it's not a total waste.

the shop roof leeaks badly, so I won't work until it passes...

I bought a half gallon of honey today. not gonna run out for a while.

but Ima hafta put it into my pint jars so I can use it.kinda awkward to pour into my teacup from the giant jug o' honey.

time for a cuppa...

after I put $50 in the gas tank (a firkin half tank at that) I went to wally's with a twenty to buy smileys.

got some popsicles (lime this time, pucker power) and some more crab imitations.

and pickapeppa sauce for my nightly baked tater. (they don't carry tiger sauce)

mr vw thinks he can find me some araucanas locally.

I give him a week, then I'm ordering them. otherwise I won't get them before it is a million degrees here.

Friday when it is 'posed to be bright and sunny and springtime again, Ima do a list on the chicken yard and get started on being ready...

everyone I talk to says they would buy blue eggs. dunno how much effort I really wanna put into it. prolly not a whole lot...

but I think they will be kinda cool wandering through the pond garden...

got a big storm rotating the wrong way off over the wheat to the west of me.

gonna stay kinda close to the cabin today until this sh*t is all over with. I'm tired of rain.

come July I'll be praying for it...
