@Joeblow,
I've been fortunate this winter to have snowplow guy mostly always in my debt, so any time I've needed to split more than a few logs, I can run up the road a piece and bring it home, or split a load there.

I maintain a lot of his equipment, and most of his vehicles. (not momma's prius, thank you) so it worked out real well.

mostly now I hand split as a judge of how good I really feel. If I can swing the maul and walk on, I'm ok...

oh. my. god...

it's like somebody threw a switch.

firkin gorgeous out it is. and this is the least of the forecasted nice days this week...

got grass popping out everywhere, and my water lilies have little red leaves up and floating. (and a ton of algae Ima hafta get rid of...)

dunno where to begin.

fortunately I need to work in the shop, so I can delay the decision on the garden...

gonna gear up and do the exhaust manifold on the 4x4. I got the old nasty broken studs out by using the welder. I cranked it way up and welded a nut onto the buggered stubs. made them glow cherry red. when they cooled, they turned right on out...

and I glued my gaskets on and let them set overnight. now the job is a piece of cake once I break the pipe loose. (big air should make that go like clockwork as well)

tomorrow is a gram day...

@ehBeth,
Seriously not a diet thread. But that is alright. I don't diet very well anyway.

Cleaned out little closets and drawers today. 13 bags of clothes to the local battered women shelter. I am ashamed that I have waited this long. Seriously 12 years of kids clothes out of this house. It just FEELS better.

I will be trying to put the rooms back together so I won't be around much this evening. Sees y'all tomorrow.

@mismi,
long day...

took gram shopping and to the bank. she likes the new truck, and with her little step stool she was able to in and out seamlessly. she dislikes the 4x4 cuz it's too tall...

it is officially spring, I planted the first new babies of the year. red seedless grapes. twice. gonna hafta find me some suitable arbor material and get started on my entrance arch for the pond garden. I'm thinking this year it all kinda comes together into a special place...

tried to knock myself out twice today. got a permanent spot on my forehead now. good sign that I am more active of late...

needa figger out supper pretty quick, and run check on my neighbor lady. strange vehicles prowling around her property...

back in a bit.

got the 4x4 done, but it will be tomorrow night before I can get paid.

@mismi,
I'm glad you got that closet cleaning done. I saw elsewhere that it was weighing on you.

I'm collecting clothes to take to the next swap meet. I do love the swap meet!

@ehBeth,
I gotta stay away from swap meets, but mine are a little different from your'n...

checked on my neighbor. scrap pirates....

after the big old giant rusty lathe. I told her I would scrap anything she wanted hauled off and show her the scale tickets to be split fiddy fiddy. we'll see who has the better offer when they come back. I'm guessing Ima be scrapping next week. $170 a ton today...(the lathe weighs in at at least 2 tons. it looks like part of a battleship)

@Rockhead,
Thank you Beth. It was weighing heavy. I feel like a hoarder. I don't want to be. I don't hang onto things because I love them. I just hang on to them because I think I will use them again. Or that I will have someone that really needs them and wants them. That did happen during the tornadoes. I gave what I had away then. I just hadn't cleaned out everything as thoroughly as I wanted.
.
I got even more done today. I LOVE it. Manic mode just suits me.

As soon as I get the Spring cleaning done for the inside. I will start working on the outside.

Hugs you all...I gotta go to bed. I am about to fall over.

I yam what I yam...

and tonight I am making my own gaskets for a spreadbore carburetor adapter that I am putting together for snowplow guy's old chrysler. mebbe have it running by this weekend so he can bring it to my house for cancer treatments...

tedious work, but better than playing guess which gaskets might work at the parts store, and then ordering them in to verify and pay for the correct ones. heavy impregnated paper cost me a buck...and an hours time. but I'm kinda a perfectionist. using my gasket punches to make the holes and stuff.

cars as art...

considering a tuneport injected chevy motor for the 55 ford if the original won't run as it sits. time will tell.

time for a popsicle break...

what a difference a week makes...

lit two tiki torches and the chiminea. sat out by the pond and admired my new grape vines. and considered the future of the pond garden.

I think it needs free range chickens roaming through it for starters. gonna try and find some aracaunas and get busy with them. and try to get ahold of the goat guy. maybe I will make that my only mission away from the house tomorrow.

got my windows open, it's only 'posed to get down to 54 tonight. wowser...

won't be long and the guppies can move outside. and the houseplants...

loving spring this year. and maybe gonna enjoy life for a change...

gotta soak my feet before I go bed. need some new shoes, we do...

havin a cuppa, and then gonna try some noodles.

got a killer headache, maybe its the winds howling today, dunno.

took a pill. hadn't hadda do that in a week. today it was a no brainer. when a nap did nothing for it, pharmacology was the answer...
