ok, headache is fading to background noise. (love my pills)

fixed the tire on smoky's mower, he wants to go tooling around the farm looking at stuff. I told him to drop the blade while he was touring. we already have weeds knee high in spots...

gonna go over to colwich and get some gas. $20 won't even fill my can now...

and Ima rake out the pond garden. my grapes are already standing up and basking in the sun. gonna hafta build an arbor real soon so the wind doesn't firk with them. they need to latch on and run...

working on the yard a bit. the area between my place and smoky's. getting my brush piles all cleaned into one back by the chicken house. gonna shred a lot of it for mulch, at least that's the plan. and get the chicken pen fixed so I can keep them cooped up.

looking actively for some chickens now. and found goats.

the good news is also the bad news...

goats are $100 each. which is hard at first, but good when my goats proliferate and want to be sold. for $100 apiece. cha ching...

now I gotta figger out what kinda goats I want. fainting would be cool, but not as easily accomplished, as I found none of them available nearby. and I'm not sure of the market for them.

there are some Nigerian folks in Wichita that eat goats. those are prolly the ones I want to raise...

grapes are no longer wilty and are looking happy. Ima go down to snowplow guys and split a little wood as I test drive his truck. I think he has some poles I can have to start my arbor...

@mismi,
cool.

I think I am happily self employed for the time being. thinking about working a standby concert call on Friday, but not sure if I wanna get up that early for a what-if.

hafta see what other errands I might needa get done whilst I would be in town that early. and whether I'm scrapping next week...

gonna go rake out gardens by the light of my tiki torches. snowplow guy gave me a buncha poles and a pile of landscape timbers for $25 in credit towards working on his various crappy vehicles...

I got Spring McFever...

@msolga,
we'll prolly still get another snow. it's freaky weird warm just yet. I'm leaving the stove in the cabin, but moving the heaters to storage for now. I can always bring them back in when it gets cold. nights in the 50s and 60s for now...

gonna take a dinner break. baked potato and some fresh spinach. mebbe a berled egg. trying to eat a little lighter so I don't repeat this mornings difficulty.

gonna hafta fix the screen door. stinky keeps looking at me to open it, but as I was leaving the other day, I saw a cat running outta the shop. and instead of bolting off away from me, it headed for the cabin. and it was a large white and tortoise male. and it looked just like stinky...

he is grounded.

and until I can patch the screen door, he hasta be satisfied with his window screen view...

I filled the birdbath so he has visitors.

@Rockhead,
I had to cover the kitchen window with remesh. Screen couldn't stand the abuse.

@roger,
were it not for Neptune, king of the ferals, I would let him roam. he was free range when I lived in Tennessee.

I could not handle the vet bill when the battle of the titans inevitably occurred.

he's fine as king of the cabin...

hmmmmm.

I do my best gardening at night. maybe that's why my garden looks so cool in the moonlight...

got 6 poles in place for the arbor. it's gonna be a lot bigger than the one I had over in town. taller, wider, and longer. it's all coming together this year. I expanded the boundaries a little, and it all works well with the existing trees and bushes that live in the ground. gonna be awesome...

raked until my rake broke, then even raked a little more without a handle. I should sleep like a baby, I'm tarred...

gonna have some cherries and chocolate chips, feed the kids and the fishes, then call it a night. tomorrow my check turns good, so Ima go put it in and head out to mount hope for a power steering bracket set up to fit a '67 chevy truck. as a favor to my friend at the salvage that swapped me my new truck. he's got a really trick old pickup with a 283 that has tuned port injection, and my old hot rod camshaft in it. (the one that was part of the swap that brought me the 55 ford truck)

things are working out almost like I planned them. kinda scary it is...

it looks almost as good in the daylight...

I'm off to take care of my karma. gonna go round up some impossible to find parts for somebody that's been looking out for me when I needed some help.

it's all good.

and Ima try and get a rake handle. and some more noodles. I'm out...

Shocked

stinky is crashed on his chair in the sunbeam, but I could not find the bubba. this is not the first time, but I know she didn't go outside. I don't think she will ever want to go out again...

but I found her. she's living in the antique milk can in the plant room...

curled up asleep in the bottom of it. (stinky is too big and cumbersome to fit in there)

he's like a not that fat Maru from tennessee.

gotta fly now...

@ehBeth,
better than falling rocks. always beware of falling rocks...

home. kinda wonky, but I think it is mostly needing some nutrition. all I had before I left was a package of thai noodles. eating another one now while I decide whats for dinner.

stopped at whole foods for bread, milk, and noodles. also got some more of those yummy graham crackers...

gonna rest up and see if I don't get a second wind. need to make my taillights work. took a call for the out on Jason Aldean tomorrow night. $100 and a free t-shirt...

@ehBeth,
or I crawl under it with the test light and find where the short is located. prolly at the trailer plug where some non-mechanic person tried to install it.

or I take the 4x4. it still lives here for a bit. he has 4 trucks, I'm always working on one of them anymore.

got my rare as hens teeth brackets. I must say, I don't think I've ever laid eyes on this particular configuration before. it even has a cast iron piece. ol' Bob is gonna do the happy dance when he sees the, he had given up and was gonna try some aftermarket crap...

I'm the undisputed king of unobtanium...

@ehBeth,
it looks better to the consumers that I am capable of fixing problems on my own vehicles in a traditional fashion.

If I went around like red green all the time, folks wouldn't want to give me $50 an hour to play with their toys...
