brrrr.

awoke to a chiily morning. stinky was snuggled. that was the only good part. got us a fire going now. considering making a shower.

it's a gram day. gotta take her to get her ID card renewed. she is not a happy camper about it. she'll be griping about it all day. I think she finally understands that I can't eat a meal with her. for the longest time she took umbrage at it. like it was a personal snipe or something. once I told her a doctor said so, it became no problem. doctors are right next to Jesus in gram's world...

gotta get my crap together, I told her one o'clock. and I gotta drop off the cherry picker at mr vw's as I go.

@Rockhead,
Are you allowed to make food for Gram? if the doctor suggests it, that is.

more thai noodle soup...

smoky is back in his armchair. he's kinda fuzzy tosay. made him eat some soup...

gram's ID card was almost a disaster, but for two nice ladies at the front of the line that insisted gram go in front of them, it woulda been a murderous afternoon. made her day, and mine twice over, because I was the one standing in line for her.

gonna relax this evening and try to be ready to go over to the river and cut up trees for firewood. free firewood...

Monday I hope to drive my new truck. details to wrangle out and pay for first.

off to start a fire...

@ehBeth,
I'm wearing my red hoodie.

so nobody mistakes me for a homely limping deer...

it ain't the season, but that don't always matter where I live. and there's been a lotta gunplay nearby on the weekends of late.

If I had it to do over, I would sell build and sell ammunition instead of cars...

cheerio.

@eurocelticyankee,
I look amish from a distance in the winter time, so being shot for a homey is prolly not high on the list of stuff to worry about.

and the 4x4 screams for a gun rack in the back window...

I'll be meeting snowplow guy there. he with the endless supply of fluorescent green t shirts. and he'll be in a dually diesel 1 ton four door pile o' Ford.

we should be safe enough.

I'm certain he will be armed.

that song of JD's was always one of my favourites for x-country skiing - great rhythm for flat poling

@ehBeth,
how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if he had my john deere chain saw and a power splitter?

a bunch now...

it was very rural today...

some dude was plowing in half mile long strokes next to the downed tree row I was working on. he waved, so I went on in.

was met by the most beautiful and affectionate Irish Setter I've seen in a while. great big boy. farm friendly. he helped me load the truck full, and then I come to find myself plowed in. he was running that big giant machine pretty hard...

good thing I had the 4 wheel drive today.

wind was howling as well. glad I had my hoodie, my ears would be hurting, and gram would be able to say I told ya so aboot me not wearing a hat...

then I stopped by to see Dee, my old kitchen helper from the bar, cuz her garage door was up as I went past. she has a new puppy. an adorable little corgi with verra sharp little puppy teeths.

quite a nice day in the country, and I got a weeks wood for the shop...

@Rockhead,
Thomas does happen to be a fan of Tim Hortons. I gave him lessons on how to order coffee at a Timmys in the http://www.toronto.ca/path/images/pathlogo.gif near work. It is an art form.

we need to talk aboot something else, or Ima hafta go nuke me a maple frosted GF donut...

trying to decide what I wanna do for dinner. smoky went to see the crispy kid today, so I'm guessing they went and got a greasy chili-cheese bionic burger and a bag of gooey fries. they usually do.

I'll be on my lonesome tonight. may try and grill a turkey and fake cheese sammich. dunno...

@ehBeth,
I have grilled a turkey before.

even deep fried one once during that crazy fad. (quite dangerous when you add beer to the game...)

I needa get some kinda chocolate next time I do the wally run. mebbe tomorrow. by Monday for sure. big plans for monday. gonna do my column swap and make my truck roadable. prolly put the window in it here, for convenience sake. I can work over to the salvage, and he don't mind me in his toolbox, but I try to limit those adventures to times I need assistance with something...

I should go unload my wood before darkness falls. I am trying to practice working while the sun is up. it feels kinda weird...
