@ehBeth,
I'm starting to catch glimpses of the guy I once was. there's 6 years of downhill slide to overcome. but I got my cape outta storage for future use...

the cats think I've moved out. I am gone so much that they have to deal with each other all day. they are asleep in separate rooms at the moment.

If I head into the kitchen they will both be there before I can turn around, however...

one day at a time, not gonna get overly hopeful about anything yet. but a lot of signs are green now...

tonight's going to be a test night. I can be wonky tomorrow if needs be. gonna see just how much milk is in a slice of american cheese food. I'm betting not enough to wobble me, and my taste buds are screaming for it. I got turkey needs using up. and broccoli, too. gonna be good and have "spread" instead of butter.

bleah...

boilt some eggs into smoky's place. my hotplate does a lousy job of it. gonna mix up some more tuna salad. just to have for when I'm hungry and don't wanna do more than defrost some bread. gotta keep it froze so it still acts like bread. I guess. I get it frozen, and just keep it that way till I need it...

windy as a b*tch out there tonight. howling around the cabin. got a fire popping to accompany it.

gonna make my sammich here in a bit. gotta straighten up the kitchen yet. with catses underfoot...

I may have enough now to finish out this season. we'll see. funny weather it is. thunderstorms on tuesday...

think Ima build a small fire in the shop to work by. gonna try and knock off by midnight and get to sleep before my usual 3:30...

letting my paint dry...

a bad habit left over from my street rod days. I gotta clean up and refurb all the pieces that go back in. my work always looks nice...

but sometimes it might be wasted effort. snowplow guy doesn't care as much as I do how nice the stuff looks. but if I hafta go back in, following myself is always pleasantly clean and easy...

@Ticomaya,
I want a couple of cans of that so bad I can hardly stand it. I wonder if it works as good as it sounds?

Anyway. A weekend full of baseball. Of course we lost both games but the second one was a better loss - 7-4 verses 18-9. Now we know how to move forward. J's arm has gotten floppy - thinking it was the two innings of pitching he is not used to. He was playing short stop later in the game and made a stinky throw to first. Bless him. He beat himself up all the way home. S has a new glove and didn't get his hand up to cover the ball before it popped out of the glove. He beat himself up too. I am afraid my sweet boys take after me in their desire to be above reproach. I keep telling them it's not going to happen. How do you unlearn that? I guess I have to live better before them.

Well...hail tomorrow is it? It was grey and nasty here this morning but has gotten quite lovely outside. I have been watching Downton Abbey and I am pretty sure I am speaking with a British accent right now...with a slight southern drawl.

Alrighty - off to the thrift store. Need some things I am hoping to find there for a bargain.

Take care! Wink

@mismi,
Wow. That sounds like the team Charley Brown manages. The other team didn't show up, so they won by default and had a one game winning streak.

@roger,
Yeah Roger - Bad News Bears - seriously at some points I saw balls going between legs and over heads and over throws one after the other...it was a train wreck. I wish I had my little flask with me. Wink Not really...but when the season gets here...maybe.

BUT in their defense...they have never practiced together before. They have been doing drills because of the wet fields - the coaches didn't even really know who could play what position except for what the parents told them...and you know how that goes. Wink That second game there was such a huge improvement I think we will definitely see a different team when the season actually starts.

I hope.

Ah Beth - no buttons. Sad No little boys black dress shoes either. Sometimes I hit the jackpot. But not today. Maybe next week. Wink
