@Rockhead,
this is the most common brand (and packaging style) we see here

@ehBeth,
usually 5 in a tin, not 6, though I've seen tins with 6 (probably before the days of serious size control)

http://internetfoodassociation.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/sardines1.jpg

each tin is about the size of a deck of playing cards

@Rockhead,
The container you buy is quite a bit larger.

Kinda funny - when you compare the nutrient analyis - the Crown Prince example thinks a serving size is half of that at Brunswick. I guess Brunswick sardine lovers really love sardines.

@Rockhead,
nope, no crunch

you can tell that there are bones, but the processing seems to have softened them to the point that they don't crunch - you'd have to add celery or water chestnuts to get crunch

@ehBeth,
They seriously play games with what they call serving size. Remember the nutritional break down of canned soft drinks? It looked good till you noticed the can was supposed to be 2 or 2 1/2 servings.

@roger,
The recommended serving size for the U.S. can was 55 gms - for the Canadian can, the 105 gm tin is a single serving.

I was looking at it because of the sodium. The one Rocky linked to had 240 mg of sodium in the 55 gm serving, the Brunswick one I buy has 200 mg of sodium in 105 gms. That's a big difference!
