and I doubt the cats will like the sauce if I can't eat them...

Just swish the sardines thru a little cold water and I guarantee you'll hear the cats purring, Oh, to die for!.

I don't think that they'd turn them down even with the tomato sauce, Rocky.

@Rockhead,
do you like curries?

there seem to be a lot of recipes for cheater curries that use tinned sardines in tomato sauce

I just eat sardines straight up with lots of black pepper and a little bitta mayo

my uncle liked them on rye bread with big slices of sharp onion

@Rockhead,
I love ém. It was one of the things I shared with my uncle.

mrs hamburgboy was not a fan. She preferred not to be in the house when I was digging into my sardines.

One year my uncle gave me a carton of tinned sardines for Christmas. I think it was some kinda message to mrs hamburgboy but I didn't notice it then. I just enjoyed the sardines.

My main inheritance when my uncle died was all of the leftover tinned sardines at the hospital and in the house - and some pre-fab chocolate pudding (not sure why I got that).

Beth has done all a body can do to help, but you gotta do your share, Rocky. If ya think bad thoughts about them, chances are you won't like them.

I had the damndest time eating shiokara - salted fermented squid guts - 'cause of the mental picture. Got some as an appetizer in a snack bar, gobbled it down and then asked the guy sitting next to me - Kore wa, nan desu ka - [This, what is it?]

Yup, you guessed it, it was shiokara - ABSOLUTELY ******* DELICIOUS!!

@Rockhead,
Mustard is grand and straight up sardines in oil or salt brine is also great.

Sardines warmed in already cooked onions, yummy yummy.

@Rockhead,
I prefer them straight up - in oil or brine/

I like little fishes. I saw some smelt on the weekend - gonna pick some up in the spring to fry up. Yum, little fishes!

@Rockhead,
Well I don't have it right now.
And they don't make you wear the cone of shame for that...

Hopefully I have never had nor ever will have kennel cough...or my pooches for that matter. But I have had bronchitus...and they give LOVELY medicine for it.

Somebody's feeling sassy in spite of their grogginess.

This is good.

@Rockhead,

eh...there you go again....

I am not a sardine girl. But don't let that stop you. I can eat them. I just don't prefer them. I am picky when it comes to the fishies I eat. Not little bitty not too big - just right shrimp...too small or too big the texture becomes an issue. Fish needs to be non fishy for me to eat. And I grew up on the Gulf Coast. Just an odd twitch I have. One among many I suppose. I love crab though. Love it.

@Rockhead,
I do love crabby folks too. Their my fav's. Cranky and cantankerous has never been a fear of mine - I find it fascinating.
