I can help you. Yes, it's true and official - I am a recertified Level 3 OFA - yay and whew. I am sooooo glad it's over!
But... I will hang on to my pocket mask and if you are cyanotic, having trouble breathing, have dypsnea, wheezing or stridor, I can and will provide ventilated assistance.
Now, onto more important things:
Poor Lyndsay Jacobilsen (or however it's spelled) but yay for Maelle Ricker!! Whoo hoo! Gold for Canada!
My friend, Leslie, waited in line 7.5 hrs for a trip on the Zip Line! Is she nuts?? Yes! But then, many people line up for 2+ hours just to get into the Canadian Mint Pavilion - another one where I shake my head.
And you have to line up for over an hour to get into the Bay Olympic area, and then another hour at the cashier. Ke-razy!
@Intrepid,
I know someone who has just got her 1st aid certificate... you want me to call her... she may do house visits...
@Mame,
Mame... him down below need a littl help... can you do online breaths...
<so I get a referral fee>
second referral on way... He'ds spend'in his breath.... gasp
2 clients... jusslikethat...
@Mame,
FEELING... SHORT... OF.... MAY... PASSS.....
<THUD>
What can you do about when people post funny and the listeners start to vocalize with chortling?
Well, I can also split your fractured femur or humerus, align and stablilize your neck in case of a spinal injury, package you for rapid transport, etc etc etc... and thank you all. It's a big relief! I never worry about the written but obsess and sweat about the practical. Turns out I needn't have worried - we had a great instructor.
So... what do we all think about Begg-Smith?
Ehbeth, I'll pm you when I get back re: TO.
@Mame,
I got goosebumps just thinking about you spliting my femur. Don't wanna even think about the humerus.
@Intrepid,
Hard to believe that birthday wish came true, eh
@Intrepid,
Okay, settle down, settle down...
@Mame,
I'm ok. I got my breath back. I am breathing a little easier now. I'm keeping a paper bag by my side just in case.
@Mame,
Well done, Mame. Good work!
Is this a qualification for a new job? Or is it that you just want to help people generally, around the place, if they're having trouble breathing?

no -one is saying much, are they?
@dadpad,
msolga - It's a 2 week crash course in first aid that enables me to obtain more work as a cook than if I didn't have it - I'm much more employable with it because we work in isolated regions of the north, primarily.
dadpad - no, no one has really said anything. We got his history, prior to the race, but nothing since then. I thought he showed a lack of grace when he realized he was 2nd instead of 1st. Pouty baby.

Ah, now I see.
Thanks for the response, Mame.
Becoming much more employable is an excellent thing!
