Sarah Palin a woman who had proven once more that you do not need a brain to be a powerhouse in the Republican Party and with the help of a ghost writer can become rich had just signed up with the Fox Network.

One can only wonder how they are going to control such a lady and keep her from making a fool of herself every time she open her mouth.

This should be amusing and interesting to say the least.

@BillRM,
Actually, this is probably the best gig for her. Her strengths seem to be charisma and name recognition. As a TV personality, she can prepare ahead of time and work off a script, just like she did at the Republican Convention where she delivered a great speech. Betweeen that and speaking engagements (where she can do the same thing), I think she'll do well.

it will only reaffirm her stupidity to those who recognize it in her already, and it will only strengthen her appeal among the seeds who hang on her every word

Considering the demographic to which Fox always seems to want to appeal, this makes good business sense.

@engineer,
If she get off a script however even or a second she is in big trouble and so is Fox in my opinion.

This is the lady who did not even know the duties of the office of Vic President she was running for or that you can not see Russia from the shore line of Alaska for that matter.

She does have some power to get the hard core right wing charge up but I am assuming that Fox might wish not to limit their appeal totally to twenty percent or so of the population but then I might indeed be wrong in that assumption.

@Setanta,
So you guys think that Fox just wish to limit themselves to twenty percents or so of the total population?

Side note I used to look at Fox from time to time but as it drifted more and more to the far far right I had stop doing so and I am fairly sure this is going to cause others viewers to bypass this network.

It had turn into a network that only Rush dittoheads could watch.

@BillRM,
i'm sure folks from all over the spectrum will tune in for awhile to see what goes on

as for fox and it's demo, i'm sure they'd love to have 100% of the viewing audience, but until the neo nazis (oops, neo cons) take over the country and commit the general population to re-education camps, that probably won't happen

True, but Fox isn't going to let her get off script. They aren't even giving her her own show like Beck, Limbaugh, etc. Fox News would be very happy to wrap up 20% of the news audience. That would be a whopper number for cable news and put them in direct competition with the major broadcast networks. I think it's a clever move by Fox and a decent one for Palin. I think it also pretty much removes her from 2012 consideration. After a year of hosting great American stories, she's going to be seen as a TV personality instead of a politician.

@BillRM,
It won't be long before she starts rubbing the executives the wrong way at Fox. Their hands will be tide, because she'll be a big money maker and they'll have to put up with her.

If you ever watch Hannity or OReilly, you would know it won't matter if Palin goes off script. In fact most Fox viewers will love it and accept it as Gospel. Having 20% of the population watching here will make tons of money for Fox.

Her biggest problem will be ever running for office with all that YouTube video out there of her for the other 80% to see before they step into the voting booth.

I think anything goes in the new millenium. I don't think it will hurt her chances as a politician. What will hurt her is her lack of discipline. If she can tighten up her free-wheeling style she could very well win the White House. I'm not hoping for this, I'm just saying, if she can craft a message and stick to it...we saw this with Bush Jr.

@djjd62,
How true. She just needs to tone down the bile and the defensiveness and play up on her positive qualities such as her good looks and hair.

Several other people have mentioned this already, but yeah, if Fox could get 20% of the viewing audience, they'd cream in their jeans. The fact that you despise Miss Palin and have a low opinion of her intelligence does not constitute evidence that this is a bad move for Fox to make. In fact, i'd say it's a good move on their part.

I'd say it's an inevitable move, she had the journalism background, she's loves being in front of a camera and she's photogenic. She is going to be the Diva of Fox without any cat fights from the other women because they all agree. I do think she'll have problems with some of the men, though.

it's perfect

up to now fox has been a den of gay political porn (all male, with the possible exception of the odd appearance by ann coulter, but that's like bestiality political porn)

at least they're throwing a woman in the mix

@BillRM,
I think it's a smart move by Fox, and a potentially useful one for Ms. Palin.

Lord I know the Bush junior was no intellectual however compare to her he is a damn genie.

Her support is limited and I do not see that changing to around 20 percent of the population and the not all that bright 20 percent of the population.

You know the ones who are under Medicare and yet are yelling about the evil of government health care.
