@danon5,
Dan, if there's a warehouse store near where you live, they may be able to order for you. Or you might check Arm and Hammer's web site where you can find a listing (or google) of stores that stock the 15 lbs bags.

Happy shopping! Smile

@Stradee,
My town of Atlanta, TX is small - 5745 pop. There are no warehouse type outlets here or near here. Sad to say.
I did find sources on line. Thanks for the help.

All clicked and another tree asmiling.........

@danon5,
Atlanta, TX is a buzzing metropolis compared to Applegate's 300 population.

We sport a 5* garage Very Happy, post office, library, and fire station. Across the freeway there's a gas station/minimart. Applegates claim to fame is during the winter, all trucks stop for chain checks, and the Corridor from Applegate to Tahoe is governed by the HP... and those poor folks who spin out causing horrific traffic jams.

There are so many pluses for Sierra living though. Traffic is a minute inconvenience and only happens when the snow level drops 2000 ft. Other than that, it's clear sailing to town and home.

Roseville is the closest town (west toward Sacramento) where Costco and Sams Club live. Hr. down the hill is all. Auburn is the closest town in relation to where my house lives, 20 minutes as the crow flies...shopping galore. No warehouse stores though...we all say NO! Keeping the foothills pristene is an advocation. Smile

@Stradee,
Stradee, look's like we're still in the same boat......... 25 mi. away is Texarkana,TX/AR - where there IS a Sam's Club. It's the same city that was in one of the great songs of our youth - "It was down in Louiiiisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana, in them oooold cottonfields back home."
Pardon my voice today............ hehehe --- and everyday...............
I guess I'll have to break down and join the Club...............
About an hour away is also another larger city that is getting movie attention these days - Shreveport, LA.

All cleeeeked for trees.......... Me smile and tree smile. We smile together.........

It sure sounds wonderful where you live. I always liked to travel through that area - as I've done many many times in the past. Still have a sack full of those HUGE pine cones....... Bring em out each holiday time, brings back pleasant memories.......

@danon5,
I'm sounding a bit like gravel gertie anymore...allergies, dust, kitten dander...but please...don't stop singin' to the wildclickers and the trees. Very Happy

Sam's is good, a bit less expensive than Costco, and you can pretty much find everything you're looking for at Sam's. Not certain where Donna picked up the Baking soda...could have been at either store. She shops Coscto quite often, and picks up stuff for me. Good daughter, my girl.

I really luv the Sierras...so much peace and quiet, no traffic, and an abundance of wildlife. Can't ask for anything more, imo (cept the lottery win soz i can buy a larger homstead Very Happy)

Well, the trees, shrubs, lawns, and kittens are calling....beautiful day and i plan staying outdoors for most of it.

Waving to dan and Pattie's trees, and all the wildclickers. Smile

@danon5,
Waving from the sparkling clean porch (nuther beautiful day) and tomorrow sanding the back porch, primer, paint...(nynite very early)...

Appears economics is still first, the enviornment and habitat last. I know there's reason for hope, I just wish humans moved toward conservation a tad quicker and didn't have to pay people to protect their enviornment. sigh

Well, we can only do the best we can. Thanks wildclickers!!

Hello danon5, ehBeth, Stradee, sumac,..and all....
I have been averaging a click every three or so days.
Marsh near me where controlled burns were, is thriving. Much rainfall has surpassed an oasis status for wild life.

@danon5,
Hi Alex and Teeny!

Teeny, what a mess, huh? Will take years before the oceans and lands recover, and by then we will have to face another enviornmental disaster unless applications of mining and oil drilling change drastically.

Saw a very sad documentary about Polar Bears and Grizzleys. Ice melting causing more gloabal warming contaminents to enter the atmosphere, and the bears have nowhere to go anymore. Polar bears and Grizzleys who normally don't ever encounter each other, are now vieing for the same food. Alaska will kill the bears before they allow the animals to feed on 'game' animals...reasoning the same way they 'manage' wolves.

More people, more fences...that edge out wildlife. Guess the ecosystem will go the same way as the gulf in just a few years. Humans can wave goodbye to life as they know it now. Pessimistic? No...a reality not far off...our grandchildren paying the price for mismanagement of everything.

@alex240101,
sheesh, where have I been?

good to catch up and read

clicking has been happening, so has life

we're getting closer to our next dance gala, so the practicing (I think I'm really supposed to call it rehearsal time) is getting stepped up

I was out on the sidewalk at 10 p.m. last night, twirling my canes and trying to set some final details in my muscle memory - I didn't startle too many neighbours!

I met Set and the puppies at the farmer's market near the house tonight - soooo nice, music, babies, old people, yuppie people, hippie people, not too many neutral kinda people, fruits, veggies, nifty baked goods, my favourite Montforte aged goat cheese (hooray!), all kinds of wondrous things.

On the walk home we stopped at a bakery to pick up a couple of small pizzas - one kalamata olive and veggies on roasted garlic sourdough and a bocconcini heirloom tomato on whole grain sourdough. Then into a little fruit/veggie market for mushrooms and asparagus.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm

@ehBeth,
Thanks, ehBeth. I'll have to find out if we have one of those around --- The last one I knew about closed years ago.

Stradee, I agree with you --- our poor grandkids will have a tough time.

I recall, it was 1967, I heard on the news that the last spot of clean air located in the USA was a tiny corner of Wyoming.

@ehBeth,
Co-op store went the way of the dinosaurs here in the states.

Farmers markets are way overpriced unless you go directly to small growers, at least that's how it is in larger U.S. cities.

Baking soda is a good product, the 14lb bag sells for 10.00 at Costco, not reasonable, but economical for what i use the product for.

Sounds like you had a marvelous day with Set and the babies. Smile

Not to worry. With all the energy you've been blessed with, the recital will be a huge success. Much luck...Very Happy

@danon5,
Shh, don't tell anyone. Wyoming will become a non breathing metropolis if word gets out!!!

We were having a discussion about the gulf spill on FB...getting angrier by the minute that some people blame Obama for 'lack of action'. Damn! What will it take before people start getting the fact that we can no longer pollute the earth! The blame is with complacency, and allowing oil and mining companies to continue operations without strict oversite, and by NOT enforcing existing laws.

Seen it with advocacy all my life. To many loopholes, corps policing themselves....on and on and on...

sigh

Congrats to the Lakers!!!! Plus the weather and good friends, bright spots for the day.

nynite all
