ehBeth, you remind me of some character in a recently released movie. Or, a character in a long ago released movie. Grin

Hmmm, released movies.......... I often wonder what the movies did to be incarcerated in the first place !!!

Good cliciking (Hi Iz) all Wildclicikingers..........

@danon5,
Stradee, since we are both in the same boat - retirementwise - here is a link I enjoy - mainly because it has some very good recipes and I enjoy cooking now. There's a gazillion things one can do with a pot of boiling water.

Happy cooking.

@danon5,
Wow, are those good recipes!

Artichoke Frittata is to die for...adding the peppers sounds delish.

So here i am attempting to lose weight, and it ain't happening fast enough! Took a minute to add the pounds, a year to exercise them away. My eldest sib called today and said she's given up the fight and bought larger clothes. Smile

My God, we have a party to attend Saturday! oye...

@Stradee,
Smart sib. I did the same years ago - and have long since stopped trying to hold anything in around the ladies. Grin (tummy of course)

All done with the clicks ---------

@danon5,
clicking along

niiiiiiiiice weather right now

about 18 - 20 celsius - intermittent rain

feeling dang happy about the weather

we've started practicing for the next gala - I'm going to be doing a small double cane "bit" in a saidi routine with my folklore class. Well, actually, Annabella and I are doing the double cane "bit", but it is exciting to be having a tiny moment of stage centre for just the two of us.

@ehBeth,
This not directly related to trees, but in case you all missed this latest milestone in doggie entertainment you will be interested:
Quote:
The Sydney Opera House " perhaps the world’s most famous concert venue " is going to the dogs.

On June 5, famed performance artist Laurie Anderson and her rock legend partner, Lou Reed, will stage a high-frequency performance tailored to a canine audience. Though the dogs are required attend with their human companions, most of the recital will be totally imperceptible to the human ear. The event, part of a multi-day festival curated by the couple, is advertised as an “inter-species social gathering on a scale never seen before in Australia.”

@High Seas,
Hi High Seas, That is the most interesting thing. What an imagination she has - I can believe her fears re the audience response - Here's hoping the high pitched tones don't cause the audience to respond with sound. Thanks for the link.

@danon5,
Well, perhaps some strategically placed trees around the auditorium might enable the audience to express an opinion through non-vocal means - so the link was relevant to your thread topic after all Smile And depending on how the concert goes, this Australian composer stands to make untold millions by worldwide sales of the recording! Always glad to see you posting your and Patti's news - and of course worldwide tree news as well.

@High Seas,
Anything is relevant on this thread, High Seas - as long as the clicks save trees.

My trees here in NE TX told me that their relatives in WA state's Rain Forest recently held a celebration honoring we Wildclickers....! We are getting a reputation around the World's Rain Forests for caring. They were all smiling - so I was told.

@High Seas,
That is interesting, HS!

My Dobbie couldn't take the sound of a motorcycle or vacuum cleaner, the silent-to-human tone from portions of motorized divits set the poor dog off...

Let us hope for the sake of darling doggies attending the concert the artists cease and desist the moment a few canines go ballistic. Twenty minutes may be to long before normally placid dogs begin acting like a pack of Dingos...zoom...out the door and to the trees..tux collars askew.

or not

smiling

American Parents Going to the Dogs After Human Kids Leave the Nest
Doting Moms Take Rover to Dance School; 'Holy Toledo, I've Got a Lot of Time'

Ms. Stafford, a 59-year-old retired banker and mother of two adult children, is one of many baby boomers who drive their pets from activity to activity as they once did their human offspring. "I believe dogs, like children, should be exposed to things," says Ms. Stafford, a cheerful woman who carries a fanny pack of treats for Lilly.

@Stradee,
Update from dog concert at Sydney Opera House: over a 1,000 dogs attended, all behaved impeccably, only one minor injury reported, caused by foolish human who stepped on dog footsie by mistake.

Quote:
As the winter sun beamed down, the white sails of the Opera House shaded the audience, some perched on the steps overlooking the stage and more enthusiastic dog owners closer to the stage to make the most of the performance....While dog owners could hear the music, some of the strange tones and high pitches were certainly geared for the dogs to appreciate rather than their two-legged owners......With so many sizes and breeds of dogs in one spot, a local Sydney vet was on site in case there was any brawling. But with only one minor injury to report, he was able to have a laugh about the incident.

"It's fantastic! It's a testament to Laurie and her reputation and the organisers of the event. There's been no problem with the dogs. Everyone's been responsible. Someone stood on a dog's leg and is a little bit sore," Geoff Golovsky said.

Animals can hear sounds below our own hearing threshold as well as above. In the Indian ocean tsunami animals headed for higher ground - possibly reacting to both subsonics and to Raleigh waves (vibrations) caused by the shift in tectonic plates - hours before the water wall came rushing in.
