I didn't know Rita Hayworth could sing and dance so well. I think she is better than Ginger Rogers. She was a bit too tall for Fred Astaire. Fred looks slightly taller than Rita which doesn't have the same look with Ginger Rogers. Fred and Giner is the best combo. Rita dances with an impish behavior which seems to show she loves dancing.

I was seeing a lot of the old classics from the Library and never realized that Rita Hayworth was such a good dancer and singer. I also saw "It Happened One Night" with Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert. It was a great movie. The dialogue was great especially with Colbert's sarcastic putdowns. The old movies certainly had very good dialogues.

It seems the Charles Dickens Era is back with us.

Was at the Nacional Hotel in Havana where Fred Astaire plus many other actors and degnitaries stayed including the mafia, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Weismiller, Marlon Brando, Churchill, and many government officials from around the world.

I saw 'Bugsy' starring Warren Beatty and Annette Benning. It was in this movie that Warren Beatty met and married Annette Benning. Bugsy Siegal was the Jewish mafia gangster who developed Las Vegas to please his movie starlet girl friend played by Annette. she has a certain resemblance to Shirley MacLaine, Warren' movie star sister.

There is a little story about Warren Beatty. He once stayed at the Delmonico's Hotel in New York. He was wearing a beard to hide his identity. Julie Christie came to visit him. A chubby boy began to be seen at the hotel lobby. After about a month Warren left and Julie stopped appearing. They guessed they have been identified by the staff. The chubby boy was spotted at the lobby and drew curiosity among the hotel staff so the elevator operator was asked to to see what the boy wanted. The boy said he was waiting to get Julie Christie to sign an autograph. The elevator operator laughed and said " She's gone. That blond girl with the pony tail, summer dress and sandals was her. She passed by you every day!"
The boy's eyes lit up in horror and cried "oh,no!"

I also saw "Once upon a time in America" about the Jewish Mafia starring Robert De Niro. It was by Sergio Leone. It was quite good.
