I always read her, period, agree or not. I could kill to be more cogent, like her, but then I wouldn't be me. In any case, I admire beyond compare, Duck's command of commentary.

Apologies all around for not getting the PM. I've been away on personal business, I'm afraid. I understand the interest in this question has probably passed but I will say that I don't think this is completely cultural. I think it's a classic case of someone who doesn't interview well, which I know something about not because of my husband but because of myself. There may be a cultural twist, but I don't think it's a major factor. I think she's just not comfortable interviewing and may be unable to figure out what it is they want to hear or unable to communicate her suitability for the job.
As far as commitments in Moroccan culture, I'm not aware of any inherent cultural dishonesty. Moroccan's are often on "Moroccan time" for appointments and engagements, but that's something they share with a great many cultures.
