Are the latin words "Virtus" & "Honor" correct translations for "Strength" & "Honor"? Also, how would they be written in second century Latin? I have been told that the letter "U" did not exist.

@tmunifo,
Virtus is usually translated as manhood or valor or goodness, rather than strength. Strength would be potentia or potestas. Honor can be translated as honor or dignity or even grace.

I believe that by the 2d century A.D. the letter 'u' had crept into common useage. Before the 'u' was used, 'v' stood for both the V and U sounds. (Thus virtus would be virtvs. Btw, there was also no 'j'. Julius Caesar's name was actually given as Gaivs Ivlivs Caesar.)
