A fourth grader asks the President why people hate him. I thought Obama handled it ok. Interesting question though. Bush or Clinton could have been asked the same question. I wonder how they would have answered.
But they can't be truly honest, no more than Obama stated his true opinion. So what do you think they would have said? Would Clinton have opined about a "vast right wing conspiracy" or would he have admitted to the numerous mis-steps he made in his first year in office? Would Bush have talked about enemies of freedom or discussed the questions people had about his drive to war and govern from the right philosophy? I'd like to see someone ask them to see how they see it today.
i never watched the video, i don't even know what obama said, if he was being honest he would have said, because i'm a socialist (not a bad thing to be in my opinion) and a black man (also not a bad thing to be)
Well that's your right, but it minimizes the legitimate criticism about big S and tarnishes social programs though comparison with the flawed economic system.
But like "facist", and "communist" it's becoming a meaningless term. I'm probably fighting a losing battle.
It's a tough spot to be. I feel like Obama had to struggle with playing politics and actually talking to a child without alarming him. I think he answered in a an acceptable way.
I think he probably answered in an honest way too. It is simply playing politics; nothing more.

I like the transcripts much better; I think someone should push for transcripts for all youtubes.. not really pushing that, but it might not be a bad idea.
