My wife and I drove into San Jose this morning, September 26, 2009, to visit the Japantown cultural event to see what they were offering. Besides the "regular" offerings of foods and crafts, they also had music and dancing. Here's a few pictures to show what we saw.
I corrected the picture to its right side, but Photobucket shows it still on its side.
We went to the EAstern SHore Hot Rod show. Not as culturally stimulting but it certainly revved my crankshaft.

CI, I saw these photos last night. Beautiful. I wish we had more of this kind of thing here. We do have Greek and Brazillian festivals. In the North End, we still have various Italian festivals. But not much in the way of Asian festivals (unless I am missing them). There is of course the R\Dragon Boat festival, but there are very few specifically Chinese stands.
I liked visiting the Japantown in SF, small as it was.

Great shots! It's always nice to see through other folks' eyes.
Thanks for posting!

I'm downloading a video on the San Jose Taiko Drum Corp that I took last July at the Tule Lake Pilgrimage. I hope it comes out. I'm not sure whether the Img code will let me post it here, but I'll give it a college try.
