115 BILLION tons of water move through the bay twice about every 12 hours .
when we went for a walk "on the oceanfloor" some years ago , mrs h asked about the high watermarks on the rocks ; "nothing to worry " , i replied , "it's low tide !" ; she suggested that it might be wise to leave the oceanfloor BEFORE the tide returned
