took a daytrip to MAZINA LAKE and the BON ECHO ROCK yesterday - beautiful fall colours !
it's about 120 km north of here (lake ontario) - but you might as well be at the end of the world - fresh air , peaceful and quiet .
a few kids were still taking a dip in the lake Shocked

letty :
chincoteague , williamsburg and jamestown are certainly lovely places to visit in virginia !
we've enjoyed taking the fery across the james river several times - much more enjoyable than going over the bridge - we like to be on any "conveyance" on the water , from a ferry to an oceanliner .

since the ferry is part of our highway system IT'S FREE OF CHARGE Very Happy .
going on a ferry ride at sunset is particularly beautiful .
btw took the ocracoke ferry from swan quarter's at sunset some years ago - BEAUTIFUL !

type of ferry i used to get to school when growing up in the port of hamburg - the older ferries were actually steam-driven , but haven't been able to find a pix .
going to school and coming home was always fun , usually hanging over the railing and spitting in the elbe river

RMS (royal mail ship) SEGWUN , the oldest operating steamship in north-america cruises the muskoka lakes (north of toronto) during the summer months - a great way to spend a day on the water and sightsee without having to watch the traffic .
