I have been appalled for years now by the amount of "true crime" shows which one finds listed when one goes through the program guides. "True crime" books are a fairly successful sub-genre of non-fiction literature, but it has long seemed to me that the interest shown on television is out of all proportion to the activity of that genre of publishing. I can't really comment on whether or not they constitute "porn," because i don't watch them. I have also found lately that documentaries of any kind usually are now 20 minutes worth of show dragged out for an hour, with constant repetition after each (of the many) commercial break. So, i suspect that "true crime" documentaries are no different, and take the opportunity to display again and again the gory or otherwise horrifying parts of their show.
Torture porn tarted up in a lab coat?
I like science fiction and some fantasy like MEDIUM, that I saw last night.
The thread title is an appropriate description of what befell
an undercover detective against Mexican drug dealers.
His hands were shown garrotted n bloody; this is not to my taste.
In the story, he was thereafter disarticulated n his component pieces
were placed in separate containers.
I don 't know whether there r some people (sadists?) in the audience, who LIKE seeing this.
I thawt it was gratuitous gore and ugliness; gross.
I wish thay 'd exercise some self-restraint.
